Multi-profile gymnasium No. 12 became the participant of a pilot project of the Ministry of Education and Science

On February 12, 2016 the MegaFon company announced continuation of a joint pilot project with Prosveshcheniye publishing house during which all educational literature of the school student is replaced with one tablet. The project is implemented in multi-profile gymnasium No. 12 of the city of Tver^[1].

Project Task

Replacement of textbooks with the digital device gives to pupils the chance at any time to use a digital library where virtual textbooks on all relevant disciplines are loaded, to communicate by means of social network, to look for and share information, necessary for study. All tablets are connected to the mobile Internet and other services of MegaFon. For a gymnasium and pupils the service is provided in the test mode, free of charge.

Project Progress

It is necessary to load textbooks on English into 46 tablets of pupils and teachers of the 6th class of a gymnasium, the general history, the history of Russia, mathematics, geography, the fine arts, social science, etc.

In total more than 450 licenses of electronic textbooks of Prosveshcheniye publishing house for sixth-graders are transferred. The tablet is equipped with the electronic diary where the estimates available to parents of pupils are displaid at any time.

Transition to electronic textbooks – a big step forward in training of children. They will allow to receive to school students much more useful information, will facilitate their backpacks and will give additional opportunities to children who study at rural schools. When carrying out this experiment, we want to be convinced that electronic textbooks will not have a negative impact on health of pupils and also we want to hear proposals of teachers of their improvement. One of the main problems in an education system requiring the solution are informatization and individual approach in training. We need to perform transition from the traditional system of the report of knowledge based on usual infrastructure (the textbook, a notebook, the handle, a pencil) to such approach which will allow to use skills of children as ability to use gadgets, and to give them knowledge through those objects, that infrastructure, that context which they understand and in which it is comfortable to them to be. The electronic textbook, and, in particular the electronic textbook of Prosveshcheniye publishing house, by and large, serves the solution of this task.
