2021: Integration of SIBUR Tobolsk into ZapSibNeftekhim with data transfer to SAP ERP
On July 26, 2021, the company IBS announced that it had completed work on the project of joining the enterprise "" to SIBUR TobolskZapSibNeftekhim"," which are part of the group "." SIBUR Holding The reorganization included the migration of data SIBUR to the Tobolsk IT ZapSibNeftekhim system and the refinement of functionality in the system based on ERP. SAP
The purpose of the project was to fully integrate SIBUR Tobolsk into ZapSibNeftekhim, which includes data transfer in the SAP ERP system. At the same time, the enterprises continued continuous production activities in the single production cycle of SIBUR. The changes affected the following areas: finance, asset accounting, purchasing, logistics, maintenance, investment project management, production, controlling, personnel management and treasury.
IBS specialists, together with SIBUR Digital employees, carried out the transfer reflecting all business and financial transactions in the SAP accounting system, necessary for the correct formation of the final balance sheet of enterprises and support of end-to-end production and logistics processes. You have also analyzed the data entered in the system for the two years since the previous migration in the SAP ERP implementation. The identified errors and discrepancies were corrected (normalized) during the project. When the system was launched in pilot operation, IBS consultants supported users and helped resolve data migration issues.
During the project, we implemented functional improvements in the SAP ERP system, prepared templates for transferring data from one company code to another and ensured seamless migration, provided that ZapSibNeftekhim continued to operate as usual, "comments IBS Project Manager Andrei Gorodnichev. |
The IBS team also acted as a project office and performed consolidated merger process management. IBS experts, together with SIBUR Digital employees, performed functional and integration testing of improvements in the system according to changed business processes, monitored the work of all project participants, including contractors and participants from SIBUR.
{{quote 'One of the key features of the project is the timing of its implementation, "adds Alexander Sokolov, director of the Oil and Chemistry segment of IBS. - It was carried out in conditions of impossibility to move the planned dates of legal reorganization. The team managed to prepare and carry out all the work in less than four months. We want to note the professionalism of the SIBUR Digital team, with the support of which we managed to meet such a short time. }}
The implementation of such a large-scale project in such a short time is certainly a challenge that the combined migration team of IBS and SIBUR Digital took over and successfully implemented, "said Elena Soldatova, head of the association project from SIBUR Digital. |
When choosing an executor, we focused on the experience of implementing similar projects, the strong expertise of the team, as well as the readiness to perform work in a short time, "comments Vladimir Chernykh, project curator from SIBUR. - We previously worked with IBS colleagues to migrate data from the 'legasi' system to the target SAP ERP, so there was no doubt about the competence and reliability of the partner. It is important to note that the task was new, and the previously used migration methods were not fully suitable. It was necessary to develop new ones in a short time. As a result, all tasks were solved qualitatively and accurately on time. |
2018
Completion of the second wave of replication of the SAP ERP system in the group enterprises
On August 7, 2018, IBS announced that SIBUR completed the second wave of replication of the SAP ERP corporate system at the group's enterprises. From 2015 to 2018, IBS completed work at 9 SIBUR production sites.
The high level of automation and technological equipment of SIBUR ensures the reduction of production costs. SIBUR's key business processes are automated on the basis of the SAP ERP platform. Enterprise data migration is an important element of transition projects. This process involves the verification and normalization of large amounts of information, making it one of the most time-consuming and complex blocks for implementing ERP systems. Incomplete and poor data quality usually leads to disruption of the system commissioning time, failures and numerous errors in its operation. Therefore, SIBUR management at the launch stage of the pilot solution allocated data migration to a separate direction.
Projects began with the IBS team analyzing existing data at production sites, developing recommendations for normalization and information enrichment, and developing migration templates for the functional requirements of the system. Next, a team of site specialists updated the data and uploaded, and IBS specialists performed their comprehensive and comprehensive verification with subsequent loading into SAP. As part of the test migration, the errors that occurred were corrected, so that the productive migration went quickly and easily.
"The IBS team studied the specifics of our corporate information and developed the concept of preparing the data that we planned to upload to the ERP system. After uploading the historical data, the contractor's specialists carefully analyzed them for completeness and integrity, and only then loaded them into the target system. This approach has helped to reduce the time required to migrate productively, to ensure seamless start-up of SAP ERP in enterprises, and to achieve a minimum of system errors through accuracy and completeness of data. " ' Vladimir Chernykh, Head of Integration, Migration, NSI at SIBUR |
During the last replication as part of the productive migration, more than 1.3 million records were loaded in all key areas of SAP ERP: Finance, Fixed Assets, Treasury, IFRS, Investment Management, Production Support, Production, General Reference Books, Sales and Logistics and TOiR.
Create a single management platform based on SAP ERP
Production sites of SIBUR Holding are moving to a single management platform based on SAP ERP. This was announced on July 23, 2018 by SAP CIS.
Cooperation between SAP and SIBUR began in 2015 with the pilot implementation of SAP ERP in the management company SIBUR Holding. As of July 2018, the key business processes of the holding are also automated at the Voronezh Sintezkauchuk, Tomskneftekhim, SIBUR-Khimprom, SIBUR-Kstovo, SIBUR-Neftekhim and SiburTyumen Gas plants, as well as at the SIBUR International foreign trader GmbH.
In addition to SAP ERP, SIBUR uses SAP solutions for analytical reporting, consolidation and release of management reporting, risk management, and access rights management. Using these systems, the company makes management decisions on production processes, plans plant supply, maintenance and repair, sales and logistics, maintains accounting and controlling, treasury, plans investments. The number of automated business processes is more than 500.
During the project, SAP ERP was integrated with 40 SIBUR systems. As a result, the solution summarizes data from production systems such as LIMS and MES, and accounting, including personnel and CRM.
When migrating data to a single management platform at each enterprise, the company was responsible for migrating data. IBS
SIBUR noted that as of July 2018, about 6,000 users work with SAP ERP in large divisions of the holding. In 2018, the ZapSibNeftekhim plant under construction will be connected to SAP ERP, in the future the platform will unite all SIBUR production sites.
"The SIBUR SAP Project team has managed a lot of tasks and started SAP ERP in stages without stopping production. The SAP Value Partnership collaboration program, support for large SAP MaxAttention customers, and user training played a role. Case "SIBUR" has become exemplary for the chemical industry. " |
2015: ERP system implementation at holding enterprises
Project Progress
On June 19, 2015, the Russian petrochemical group SIBUR and SAP CIS signed an agreement on strategic cooperation.
The signing of the agreement was a continuation of cooperation between SIBUR and SAP CIS, which began with the implementation of a pilot project for the implementation of the ERP system at SIBUR enterprises and at the Corporate Center. The uniqueness and complexity of the implementation process is due to the tight deadlines and the need to start ERP systems without stopping production and key business processes of the company related to SAP ERP information systems.
SIBUR Plant, 2013
During the design and implementation process, the company developed common methodologies for planning and collecting evidence for all enterprises, and created more than 400 scenarios for testing the most critical operations. In parallel with the design, the parties began training employees: more than 1 thousand remote and more than 200 face-to-face courses were held in 13 areas, more than 3 thousand people are ready to work with the new SAP ERP system.
The decision to choose a platform was made based on an analysis of the functionality of information systems and taking into account industry specifics.
"One of the conditions for improving service for customers and partners, improving business efficiency through more rigorous planning and control, using production and financial resources is a modern resource management system. The introduction of a modern global information system of the ERP class on the SAP platform will increase the efficiency, transparency and control of business processes in the company, "said Dmitry Konov, General Director of SIBUR.
"Most petrochemical companies in the world, as well as most of the largest Russian fuel and energy companies and public companies, work on SAP solutions. Among the 100 largest chemical companies in the world, 98 are SAP customers. And we are glad that SIBUR not only became one of them, but also became one of our key customers in Russia. The signing of this agreement is strategically important both for the successful development of SIBUR's business and for the industry as a whole, "said Michael Kleinemeier, a member of the Management Board of SAP SE.
Partners plan to implement SAP at all SIBUR production sites. The project is planned to be completed by 2019.
The company expects from implementation: SAP
- improving the accuracy of the production planning model,
- Reduce repair and maintenance costs
- high reliability of data.
Project Results
Within the framework of the project, the full implementation of the system took place in 6 companies of the holding, including a corporate center, a common service center, production and logistics companies and foreign branches, and a limited implementation of a single ERP system was carried out for another 20 companies of SIBUR Holding. This was necessary to ensure planning and accounting throughout the entire production chain of the holding.
As a result of the project implementation, the system employs more than 2500 employees of the holding, integrated with more than 40 systems of the company that perform the functions of operational planning and accounting of production, transport logistics, personnel accounting, document management, financial accounting of unmanned objects, collection of exchange information, and a number of other systems.
The demand for SAP solutions in the chemical industry is due to the existence of the developed model "Best Run Chemical Company," which is based on the experience of using SAP solutions by hundreds of leading chemical companies in the world, 98 of which are SAP customers. This model, successfully implemented on the SIBUR project, provides not only a certain set of modules and processes, but also SAP Service and Support packages.
