In 2015, IT-Service entered the perimeter of the Sibur group. Sibur fully bought it from the Information and Technology Service Company (ITSK), created in 2009 together with Gazprom Neft.
IT-Service has become a key provider of IT infrastructure support and development services at petrochemical enterprises. Later, the company was transformed, and a new company, Sibur IT, took over these functions. And in 2020, Sibur employees involved in the digital transformation of the company were transferred to it, and Sibur IT was renamed Sibur Digital.

Integration of IT and digital competencies in Sibur Digital
On April 30, 2020, Sibur announced the transformation of IT processes: all IT and digital competencies of the petrochemical group, as well as areas for the development and operation, digitalization of processes, advanced analytics, industry 4.0, enterprise data management are combined in a subsidiary of Sibur Digital. Previously, it was called Sibur IT. The combination of competencies is carried out to achieve maximum effects from the digital transformation program, the company explains.
Alisa Melnikova, Director of Digital and Information Technologies at Sibur Digital, has been appointed General Director of Sibur Digital. The company clarified TAdviser that it will combine these positions.
The updated structure will provide us with transparency and ease of management of all IT divisions of the company. Vladimir Savkin, who previously headed Sibur IT, will continue to work now as an adviser to a member of the board - executive director of Sibur Vasily Nomokonov, the company told TAdviser.
Sibur also provided TAdviser with data that as of the end of April, about 1.5 thousand employees with digital and IT competencies work in the group's structures. All of them will be collected at Sibur Digital during May. More than 200 employees will move to it from Sibur itself.

The general director of Sibur IT explained why the company decided to rely on the development of internal competencies. Firstly, Sibur pays great attention to the "robustness" of systems and technologies used.
Often in companies, projects arise spontaneously, systems are implemented, but after some time it turns out that it is almost not used due to the fact that it is inconvenient, and the business process has long changed, etc. As a result, a lot of efforts are wasted on implementation, says Vladimir Savkin. From the very beginning, Sibur pays a lot of attention to analyzing and refining the systems, taking into account the nuances of the holding's business.
The second factor is the rate of change. The company's task is to make changes to releases at a speed that satisfies the business customer, which is also easier to do with sufficient competencies within.
As a result, the company focused on attracting new specialists, their training and development. As of spring 2019, Sibur IT already employs more than 1.5 thousand people. And a few years ago, about 800 people worked in the IT function.
For each role in IT, a separate training program was developed that corresponds to the employee's career track. Special development events have been prepared for trainees and career routes have been thought out. Each program is focused on both business needs and point-to-point queries of functions and employees.
Sibur IT notes that the development of internal IT competencies of employees allows the company to solve ambitious tasks: the launch of an automated application system, the commissioning and replication of mobile maintenance and repair (maintenance and repair) and the digital model of the largest ZapSibNeftekhim plant in Russia, the implementation of a project to create a single service portal and corporate social network.
