2018-2020

Since 2018, the Tambov chemical enterprise Pigment has been digitally transforming all areas of production. The changes affected the accounting of resource consumption, the system of access control to the enterprise, document flow, interaction with suppliers and consumers. The global plans of the enterprise are to make electronic management of all production processes^[1]

Targeted solution of problems related to the digitalization of the enterprise in the company began in 2018. At the first stage, the activity had a design development format. With the entry of PJSC Pigment into the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation," the transformation process has become systematic. The list of priority issues included the organization of accounting and management of resource consumption, the system of access control and time recording, electronic document management (EDO), the use of digital technologies to expand interaction with suppliers and consumers. In the future, the management of all production processes will become electronic. The company plans to invest about 50 million rubles in the implementation of programs in the field of digitalization. Per year.

Electronic Document Flow

One of the directions of the digital transformation program of the enterprise was the introduction of an electronic document management system - both internal and external. In 2019, Pigment transferred internal documentation to virtual space, within which about 70 thousand tasks are now being performed.

Approximately 40% of the total external document flow has been transferred to an electronic platform, including the exchange of legally significant documents with government agencies, main permanent buyers of products, suppliers of raw materials and services. Now more than 160 counterparties are proposing to conclude agreements on the exchange of electronic documents. The system significantly accelerates document flow, which ultimately reduces the percentage of receivables, reduces the amount of untimely refunded VAT, and reduces costs and risks.

In 2020, Pigment plans to introduce new EDO systems and expand the functionality of existing ones. In particular, we are considering the launch of digital subsystems for customer and partner relationship management (CRM), subsystems for maintenance and repair control, automation of labor protection and industrial safety processes.

Time & Staff Training

A continuation of the topic of automated data acquisition and analysis and elimination of paper media are tasks for recording working time. They are solved by installing an electronic access system - an electronic pass-through. Monitoring visits to the enterprise, taking into account working hours, calculating wages - all these processes should go into digital format in the near future.

Improving the digital competencies of employees is one of the global tasks in the development program of PJSC Pigment. During 2020, the company plans to train up to 200 specialists in digital technologies, modern methods of managing production, working with computer systems and application programs.

Automation of energy resources accounting

The efficiency of a modern enterprise is largely determined by its energy efficiency. Pigment has been implementing various projects aimed at reducing the share of energy resources in the cost of production for more than 10 years. Among the last modernization projects completed is the launch of its own power unit. Automating the recording of information about various resources allows you to better control the process of their production, purchase and consumption, detect losses, analyze the obtained data and choose the best use modes.

The goal of the Pigment project to organize online registration of energy consumption is the complete automation of accounting and management of the production, purchase, consumption and calculation of losses for each type of energy resources. In 2019, work was carried out on gas and electricity, a program is currently being implemented to fully account for steam, heat, artesian water, nitrogen, and compressed air.

Further, the plans include the development and implementation of an intelligent monitoring system at the enterprise, which will control the use of energy resources, the operation of equipment, and fire protection systems. The project is to be implemented in cooperation with a Russian telecommunications company.

Online Inventory Accounting

Special attention is paid to the project of online recording of warehouse stock movements based on barcoding, as well as automatic identification of products in the process of logistics operations. Currently, the pilot operation of part of the warehouses in a new format is being carried out, in particular, the system has already been debugged in the workshop for the production of finished paint materials. During 2020, it is planned to extend the barcode system to all objects for storing finished products and raw materials, to move to the formation of loading and unloading documents using data collection terminals.

Digital Design

Digital design is developing at PJSC Pigment. This direction involves the use of modern software for the development of enterprise modernization solutions. Pigment specialists use 3D modeling, which is planned to be developed in depth in the future. Digital design allows you to choose optimal technical solutions, eliminate errors at the initial stage of development, reduce the time for creating a project, which together gives a financial result: costs can be reduced from 1 to 10% of the project cost.

Online communications

The company actively takes advantage of mobile communications, in particular, videoconferencing with partners. This not only increases the speed of decision-making, but also reduces the need for employee travel.

The enterprise website is currently being upgraded. Pigment plans to create a resource that will unite the Tambov company and its consumers and suppliers. Through the site, counterparties will be able not only to receive information, but also to interact with specialists of technical and commercial services, to solve a number of issues online.

Automation of production processes

The main stage of digitalization of production processes directly is their complete automation. This is the most complex and capital-intensive part of the digital transformation of the enterprise. The key goals here are to improve the quality of finished products, reduce their cost and increase production, reduce energy costs, as well as increase labor productivity.

Over the past four years, Pigment has invested more than 2 billion rubles in this area. In accordance with the plan of technical re-equipment of the enterprise, the program of implementation of instrumentation and automated process control systems is carried out. The company fully automated the production of acrylic emulsions, pigments, formalin, gasoline additives. This year, it is planned to scale this process to other types of products, primarily additives for concrete, sulfamic acid, optical bleachers.

Information and Exhibition Center

The Pigment Information and Exhibition Center (IVC) is another striking example of digitalization, in fact a new type of exposition activity, a "digitized" museum, supplemented by a modern base for educational projects. The IVC platform allows you to work out projects for modernization of production and stages of work in new conditions in digital mode. The plans of the IVC include the creation of virtual simulators for repairing equipment, working out emergency situations and much more.
