The IT transferred infrastructure of Samaraenergo to a cloud

The IT company completed creation of a system of virtualization of a technology core of telecommunication infrastructure of PJSC Samaraenergo at the beginning of 2016. "Cloud upgrade" included the hardware, implementation of the systems of virtualization and the organization of a core of telecommunication infrastructure. Failsafe high-performance scalable virtual environment with high rates of cost efficiency was as a result created.

PJSC Samaraenergo is power supply company of Central Volga area which provides with deliveries about 69% of the general power consumption of the Samara region, has departments and customer service centers in all cities and areas of the region. The existing IT infrastructure hardly provided the growing needs of the customer therefore for increase in efficiency of information and telecommunication services the decision on creation of failsafe high-performance scalable virtual environment was made.

After the analysis of the current situation experts of IT company suggested the customer to create a private cloud using resources of already existing DPC by upgrade of the available computing infrastructure and also migration of information systems and jobs on a new cloud platform. This option was ideal for Samaraenergo as allows to achieve bigger flexibility, stability and security of IT resources.

"Cloud upgrade" included the hardware, implementation of the systems of virtualization and the organization of a core of telecommunication infrastructure. In the project progress in virtual infrastructure of VMware vSphere 6 the system of the organization of a core of telecommunication infrastructure based on the software of Cisco Unified Communication Manager was implemented, and further it is connected to the monitoring system constructed based on the product Microsoft System Center. Besides, using means of Cisco Webex Meeting Server conference communication was provided, and the park of ADP equipment was filled up with new high-performance computing and telecommunication equipment.

"The solution proposed by IT company allowed us to reduce capital costs of creation of new IT infrastructure and operating expenses on maintenance and technical support, – Yakimakha Alexander Viktorovich, the head of department of infrastructure of IT of Samaraenergo says. – Besides, virtualization of services opens almost unlimited opportunities for expansion of functionality and scaling in process of growth of business and change of requirements".

Upon completion of service migration in a cloud, in March, 2016 the system of virtualization of a technology core of telecommunication infrastructure of PJSC Samaraenergo was brought into commercial operation. Final project stage provides personnel training, warranty technical support and service maintenance of the deployed solution on 39 objects of the customer located in the territory of the Samara region.
