2017: Intermediate results

RT-Inform completed the next stage on transfer of Helicopters of Russia on domestic technologies. In the company infrastructure using the Astra Linux operating system which ensured functioning of the main applications and services of holding was unrolled. In the long term the new systems will provide economy of financial resources in the field of licensing of jobs and technical support.

According to the second stage of the agreement with RT-Inform works on execution of the technical and organizational requirements necessary for work were performed, setup and deployment of the domestic Astra Linux operating system, migration of users and servers of management company for the new virtualization platform is made, the main information services, the CommuniGate Pro mail server, services of directories of users and printing are deployed.

In addition to management company in 2017 it is going to unroll infrastructure and jobs based on non-commercial and domestic solutions on Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, MVZ of M.L. Mil, Rostvertol, Kamov, "KUMAPP" and other enterprises. During the project special attention is paid to ensuring continuity of business processes. The specifics of the project consisted in creation of the heterogeneous importozameshchenny environment in IT infrastructure of the enterprises in which the possibility of parallel functioning as the services which are in the new importozameshchenny environment and those services which earlier within decades were created at the enterprise is meant. The used approach provides systematic and painless transition to new technologies without shock loads of users and administrators of systems.

2016: Request for proposals

In June, 2016 the Helicopters of Russia holding which is a part of Rostec announced request for proposals^[1] on execution of works on inspection of the IT infrastructure and infrastructure of a number of the enterprises which are its part regarding import substitution of OS and infrastructure program services and also to development of the standard solution and transfer of the organizations on it.

Its only participant - RT-Inform company became the winner of competition.

During the project it is necessary to define conceptual target architecture of IT infrastructure and the list of technologies and basic software for its creation, the program services necessary for ensuring functioning of jobs and server groups in importozameshchenny infrastructure, mechanisms of virtualization of services and applications.

Among tasks - bench testing of the offered architecture, trial operation of solutions on the automated objects, implementation of the developed and replicated standard configuration at the enterprises "Helicopters of Russia" which entered first of all the project.Kamov design offices and the "MVZ of M.L. Mil" which is engaged in service maintenance "Helicopter service company" and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant treat like those. In the technical project it is mentioned that within test migration Windows OS and Astra Linux OS will coexist.

It is also necessary to develop the techniques defining an order of migration of IT systems of the enterprises "Helicopters of Russia" on import-substituting technologies, and key indicators of the project of import substitution.

Are put by project objectives: a possibility of providing IT services in the conditions of minimization of sanctions risks and threats, reducing costs of holding for purchase and maintenance of software and also development of a complex technique of import substitution of IT.

Earlier, in March, the CEO of RT-Inform Kamil Gazizov in an interview of TAdviser told about plans in the near future to deploy in Helicopters of Russia the stand modeling infrastructure of the enterprises based on the domestic and freely extended software which will be available also to other holdings of Rostec.

He also noted that in projects in the field of import substitution of Rostec which he implements RT-Inform first of all it is about replacement of the products Microsoft Windows by domestic goods, including the domestic protected Astra Linux OS. Later, in June, Helicopters of Russia reported that until the end of 2018 they are going to reduce use of solutions of Microsoft to 50%, having executed transition to Astra Linux OS^[2].
