Ingosstrakh implemented technology of virtualization of a DB

On August 18, 2016 the CROC company announced implementation in SPAO "Ingosstrakh" of technology of virtualization of databases Delphix. A project objective - to accelerate development processes and testings of the main business system of the company.

Project Tasks

Process of an output to the market of an insurance product provides obligatory updating of the main automated information system (AIS) in which about 6 thousand employees of all front offices of the company in more than 80 regions of Russia work in Ingosstrakh companies. It assumes simultaneous development and testing of changes in the AIS using the relevant database of the company and without stopping business processes of Ingosstrakh.

Project Progress

Test environment within 15 minutes helps to create the solution Delphix. The copy of the database of the company becomes the main component. Development teams independently of each other work with one such copy, and all changes which they make remain separately and do not change the general copy of the database. There is a possibility of automatic synchronization of the created environment with the basis for data of the company once a day, providing these up-to-date information for development teams.

Efficiency of reaction to constantly changing market demands is what increases our competitiveness in the opinion of clients. Actually we came up against a situation when the cost and speed of work of storage systems began to limit quantity and efficiency of start of new services of the company. Project Results

Before process of receiving a test environment for development of each service took about five days. He did not provide necessary relevance of data, assumed big labor costs from engineers and demanded disk space as the reference database — ~ 30 TB. Upon completion of the project, the company operates seven test environments (virtual databases) using 25 TB disk spaces.

Tasks which were set for us by Ingosstrakh were solved in only two months thanks to Delphix technologies and valuable competences of CROC. At the moment it is one of our largest projects in the territory of Russia.
