On November 8, 2016 the Diebold Nixdorf company announced a pilot project of implementation of the SCO systems (from engl. self checkout — cash desk of self-service) in retail network "Lenta". The competitor NCR company, on parity conditions takes part in the project.
Project Tasks
Project objective - process optimization of cash flow management. Suppliers, Diebold Nixdorf and NCR equip two shops "Lenty" and the decision on the choice of the uniform supplier of cash desks of self-service will be made based on a pilot stage[1].
Project Progress
Installation of the systems of self-service of Beetle/iScan Easy in the first pilot shop began at the end of September, equipment of the second shop is executed in October.
Equipment installation in shops of network will begin, based on the choice of the SCO system, not earlier than the middle of 2017.
Project Results
On November 22, 2016 the Diebold Nixdorf company announced equipment of self-service of two hypermarkets "Lenta" by 14 cash desks in St. Petersburg. Works are performed within a pilot project.
The systems of self-service Beetle/iScan Easy are installed in shops in October, 2016[2].
