2018: Digitization numbers "Gattsuka Newspapers"

On March 7, 2018 ELAR corporation digitized more than 300 numbers "Gattsuka Newspapers" from a meeting of the Penza regional library of M.Yu. Lermontov appearing in 1870-1880.

In addition to political and economic news, scientific and popular scientific notes, literary works were published in it. Among authors "there are Gattsuka Newspapers" - N.S. Leskov, A.F. Pisemsky, N.F. Shcherbina, L.N. Tolstoy, G.I. Uspensky and others.

Issues of the newspaper printed during the period from 1877 to 1884 are available to acquaintance and studying to everyone in the Penza digital library. Specialists of ELAR corporation scanned more than 5,000 pages on professional scanners, safe for documents primary sources, and the library received safe copies of documents in the TIFF format and also the copy in the PDF format. Numbers in a PDF format are opened for readers of a digital library. Besides, for each number "Gattsuka Newspapers" for simplification of search the bibliographic description containing analytical paintings on articles is created.

2016: Digitization of rare periodicals

On November 16, 2016 ELAR corporation announced completion of digitization of rare periodicals for the Penza regional library of M.Yu. Lermontov.

More than three hundred copies of local history editions were scanned on the planetary scanners "ELAR Planskan".

The library is a participant of the National Digital Library (NDL), and thanks to expansion of electronic base of organization from the Penza region also the All-Russian fund of digital editions was replenished. When scanning and processing images the highest standards of requirements corresponding to NEB were applied: high-quality safe copies of documents in the TIFF format and user – in the PDF format with page-by-page processing and recognition were created. Documents in a PDF format are open for studying in Network.

"The project in the Penza regional library of M.Yu. Lermontov was in some way unique. Our specialists entered bibliographic descriptions into the automated library system of organization through remote connection. We made analytical descriptions for each article in periodicals. The records received as a result of this work are more convenient for users. For example, when forming search query instead of "The bulletin of the Penza zemstvo" it is possible to look for the document by words "Messenger of a Territorial Justice".
