"White stream" equipped special equipment with navigation terminals

On November 22, 2016 the Omnicomm company announced equipment by navigation terminals with Wi-Fi special transport of White Stream company. The project was executed by Omnikomm Vologda company.

Project Tasks

The park of the specialized equipment of customer company about 80 units, among them - harvester, forwarders, timber carrying vessels and fuelers.

The decision to equip special equipment of our company with monitoring of Omnicomm Online transport was made in 2012. At that time we understood that we need to transfer consumption of fuel from the set regulations on the actual expense. For this purpose we equipped 6 pieces of equipment with navigation Omnicomm Profi Wi-fi terminals and Omnicomm LLS fuel level sensors for use in the test mode. The solution is caused by operation of the equipment in a zone of partial or total absence of a covering of cellular communication. Therefore the equipment with data communication function, as on GSM channels, and Wi-Fi was selected.

Project Results

Omnicomm Online transmits information on operation of the equipment, fuel consumption, its location and some other the indicators important for work control through Wi-Fi. During test operation of monitoring of transport at the White Stream enterprise fuel costs and service of vehicle fleet considerably decreased. Due to optimization of workflows the efficiency of the equipped equipment increased.

On test units we saw considerable economic effect of implementation – fuel economy, increase in discipline of drivers, work optimization, reducing costs for service. We decided to transfer positive experience of use of Omnicomm Online to all vehicle fleet of our company. For us the fact that the project paid for itself completely in 2-3 months of operation was also very pleasant. Today we in real time see every day where there is our equipment and what work types it executes. We managed to reduce fuel costs approximately by 30%.
