On December 7, 2016 the Petter Service company announced the project in the field of technologies of Big Data by request of Rostelecom company.
Project Tasks
Since 2014 for settlement with third-party operators "Rostelecom" uses the centralized solution Peter-Service ITC. Mechanisms of storage of analytics should process data from this system from where more than 10 billion records a month will come to storage.
Within the strategy of Rostelecom on transition to segment management model, data of interoperator calculations it was required to separate into segments, according to subscriber number type.
Till 2016 all traffic in interconnect was classified as B2O (business-to-operators). With start of analytical storage traffic breaks into the segments used in all-corporate accounting of Rostelecom: B2B, B2C, B2O. It helped to estimate precisely marginality of services in each of segments – as in general, and by regions, levels of accession of a call (local, long-distance, international).
Project Progress
The Petter Service company worked as the contractor of project works on creation of analytical storage for Rostelecom.
"Petter Service" carried out works on the organization of storage. The created system became a part of the platform of processing of Big Data of Rostelecom, and the used architecture provided seamless integration to the uniform corporate data warehouse of the operator.
Project Results
We received the convenient tool for traffic assessment by a set of parameters that is a necessary step for implementation of segment management model according to the new strategy of the company. The analytical storage will allow to reduce time for preparation of the reporting, will facilitate budgeting process, will help to optimize tariff policy for the international calls, and, as a result, will increase efficiency of work of Rostelecom with telecom operators. |
Creation of analytical storages was all last years in focus of attention of telecom operators, but this task acquires special relevance against the background of the growing interest of operators in Big Data. Profitability in a voice segment is reduced in recent years, and voice traffic becomes important to be analyzed in more detail. Use of approaches from an arsenal of Big Data will help operators not only better to control flows of expenses and income in intra network traffic, interconnect or roaming, but also to make more weighed long-term decisions on business development in these directions. |
