TM Production carried out upgrade of a storage system

On February 3, 2017 the Raidix company announced the project of delivery of DWH by request of TM Production company. The FeelSystems company took part in the project.

Project Tasks

In use DWH customer company was faced urgent need of expansion of the operating storage system. The studio has a long-term experience of use of the Xsan Apple file system for the organization of network of multichannel video transmission of high resolution. Selecting model of DWH, the studio focused on maintenance of high performance for processing of video content and a possibility of flexible integration with Xsan.

The requirements to a system designated by TM Production:

• storage volume – 0.5 PB and above;
• maximum level of data protection;
• maximum speed of processing of simultaneous requests;
• simplicity of service and technical support 24/7.

As the solution for data storage the studio selected DWH from media integrator FeelSystems on the RAIDIX software platform. The integrator delivered to the customer two systems with a total capacity of storage up to 0.5 PB. The software technology as a part of the complete solution provided capacity to 25 GB / with on a core of the processor and a possibility of simultaneous operation with video content from several workstations.

The compatibility of RAIDIX with the normal server hardware h86-64 promoted optimization of the used RAIDs for specific objectives and types of loading and overhead reduction on the hardware. The RAIDIX technology provided interaction with the equipment of Apple operating the Xsan environment and professional applications for video-tape editing (Adobe Premiere, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, etc.).

Project Results

Implementation of RAIDIX technology provided:

• more than 300 days of continuous record online – before performing prevention;
• connection more than 20 clients at the same time;
• support of the modes of multichamber video-tape editing;
• transparent monitoring.
