Avrora Robotics Lab developed the Mars-A800 platform

The Avrora design office (Ryazan) developed for the Russian army a pilotless transport platform "Mars A-800", capable to move independently as on the ground, and on water, transfers in April, 2017 "RNS" with reference to a source in defense industry complex.

The platform is intended for support of motorized rifle and landing divisions, their transport and logistics. It is equipped with the special computer system, the radar and the video camera. Analyzing data of sensors and an assigned task, MARS independently selects an optimal way under firing.

For cargo delivery or evacuation of wounded Mars works in the track mode, moving between the set points. Also the platform can patrol the area in the "cyclic arrival" mode, at the same time it will mark the purposes detected using dash video cameras.

The device "Mars" can be managed in the remote mode from the panel, such option is provided for overcoming especially difficult obstacles.

"Mars" is executed by A-800 on the basis of the caterpillar Tinger amphibian platform made by the company of the same name from Cherepovets. Platform length — 3 m, width — 2.15 m, height — 1.27 m. Its weight reaches 950 kg. At the same time the mass of the transported loads is up to 500 kg. In particular, on its board about four people or different loads, including ammunition, a special equipment and arms can be placed.

The platform can move with a speed up to 35 km/h, on water by land — with a speed up to 5 km/h. The platform can be operated on the different area under different weather conditions. Operating temperature range is from-40 to +40 Celsius degrees. There is a possibility of round-the-clock operation. Among additional implementable opportunities – group use and also a possibility of landing by means of a parachute system.

In 2016 the Mars A-800 platforms based on the Ryazan airborne school according to the results of which positive reviews were received were tested.

As the commercial director of CB Avrora noted, use of the hybrid drive allows to increase a complex course stock, and the side arrangement of electric motors positively affects a razvesovka, improving controllability and passability that becomes especially important during the work of MARS in the mode of remote control.
