TAdviser comments

The largest IT companies operating in the Russian market continue to grow. According to the results of the ranking, it TAdviser100 clear that among the first ten companies, all, with the exception of the leader, in 2016 showed positive revenue dynamics. The first place in the ranking, as a year ago, is occupied by the Rostec electronic cluster. The reduction in its revenue can be explained by the withdrawal from the cluster of part of the assets, in particular, the RT-Electronic Cluster company.

In general, the first three are out of reach for the rest of the market. The difference between them remains impressive and in the coming years this situation is unlikely to change. Nevertheless, it is worth highlighting the indicators of Softline. It has been growing seriously over the past few years and in the future has every chance of entering the top three.

More than 50% of the revenue of all participants in the TAdviser100 ranking still generates the 5 largest companies. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years.

I think 2016 was the year the adaptation was completed. In 2-3 years, the market is adapting to sharp changes, and in fact everyone has rebuilt to a new model. Most companies showed normal results, began to talk about development, but the fact that the economy is not growing is a serious factor limiting real opportunities for development, - said Tagir Yapparov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of iT
File:Aquote2.png

Among the first twenty companies, negative dynamics is observed in three participants. In addition to Rostec, these are RRC Group (-18.2%) and AT Consulting (-3.4%).

The reduction in IT spending over the past few years and the crisis-delayed renewal of IT infrastructure are now driving demand growth and market recovery. This is one of the features of the IT industry: the market is rapidly shrinking during the crisis and is just as quickly recovering, - said Levan Vasadze, General Director of AT Consulting Group
File:Aquote2.png

Speaking about the revenue of the RRC Group, it should be noted that the European part of the business of this company in June 2016 was sold to Ingram Micro. Revenue for 2015 included RRC CEE figures, with 2016 sales figures for RRC CEE only partially reflected.

The most significant revenue growth is noted at MyOffice (New Cloud Technologies LLC), a developer of office applications in the MyOffice line. The revenue of this company increased from 950 thousand rubles in 2015 to 308 million rubles in 2016. This difference in indicators is due to the fact that sales of MyOffice products started only in 2016, i.e. this was the first year of sales.

Impressive growth was also shown by the Unitech - Universal Technologies company, created by immigrants from Telecom-Protection. In 2015, its revenue amounted to 20 million rubles, and at the end of 2016 it reached 649 million rubles.

In general, the total revenue of all TAdviser100 ranking companies at the end of 2016 amounted to 1.145 trillion rubles, which is 38 million rubles more than the total revenue of the ranking last year.

File:Aquote1.png
Against the background of a fall in 2015 by an average of 30-40% and last year's stagnation, we expect a slight increase by the end of 2017. At the same time, in the most promising segments, an increase of 10-20% or more is likely, - says Stepan Tomlyanovich, General Director of FORCE-Development Center (FORS GROUP Companies)
File:Aquote2.png

The ranking lacks a number of major players in the Russian IT market who, for various reasons, did not provide their revenue data for the reporting period. At the same time, the ranking was enriched by a number of players who have not yet reported their income.

File:Aquote1.png
In the next ranking, at the end of 2017, we expect to see several more technological startups in the first hundred, gaining momentum due to import substitution. Probably, large Russian players who have relied on the development of their own products and services with high added value, as well as foreign companies that have managed to adapt to the current political atmosphere, will continue to grow, "said Alexander Levashov, editor-in-chief of TAdviser. - The flywheel of the digital economy is just beginning to unwind in Russia, which means the potential for the growth of IT companies today is more serious than ever before
