Main article: Cloud services (market of Russia)
General situation in the market of cloud services
Now in global IT market there are cardinal changes caused by transition to service model. Such transition, in turn, is reflection of changes, caused by development by sharing economy, economies of joint consumption. This concept includes a wide variety of different types of activity: cloud computing in IT, the car-sharing in logistics, marketplaces in retail trade and finance connecting the separate offer and mass demand, and a set of other activities.
The cloud becomes a core of the development strategy of the companies in digital economy. Its presence at a corporate landscape by default is meant at the movement of business towards new perspective technologies – Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and so forth. The digital enterprise ready to work with Big Data or to use possibilities of industrial Internet of Things, today is under construction "through" cloud migration. By 2025 up to 80% of data will be in clouds.
Though in general global IT market stays continues to develop in stagnation, the segment of clouds directly connected with implementation of the ideas of digitalization high rates. On Gartner expectations, in 2016 the global cloud market will grow by 16.5% from $175 billion to $203.9 billion. Approximately the same dynamics is predicted by analysts of IDC: according to them, global expenditure for public cloud services in 2016-2019 will grow by 19.4% that advances dynamics of the world market of IT six times.
According to forecasts of Forrester Research global market of public cloud services will exceed $146 billion in 2017. For today it is the market of mega-providers - the most part it is divided by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google and IBM. According to Synergy Research Group research company 4 players are the share of these more than a half of the world market of public and private clouds. Global domination of the American cloud providers does not exclude the strengthened development of local players in the regional segments, note in Synergy Research. Success is defined by "the added value" - for example when platforms belong to integrators which not only provide a pool of resources in lease, but also render services of consulting and propose "turnkey" solutions. As note in iKS-Consulting, this trend is observed also in Russia.
In Russia stagnation forces the enterprises to optimize the IT budgets, refusing capital costs in "iron" and software. In this situation the elasticity of cloud model looks attractively, providing a possibility of economy at the server capacities which rose in price because of an exchange difference. In particular, in iKS-Consulting note high activity of the companies of medium and small business which using clouds can optimize costs for IT infrastructure.
Long time restrictions of communication channels and - the insufficient level of development of broadband access were the pacing factor constraining distribution of cloud computing in Russian regions. At the moment the situation is aligned. In addition to infrastructure problems, also issues of information security support were gradually resolved. By this moment, according to TAdviser, more than 60% from the polled organizations confirm use of clouds.
The overall level of trust to cloud services in Russia grows through the whole country today – though in a public sector a little more slowly, than in business. However still there is low level of knowledge of the process of migration, the costs integrated to it and potential of optimization. Increase in openness of relevant business cases and also distribution of examination by calculation of costs for similar projects could stimulate the Russian customers to bigger activity of migration.
Volume and structure of the market
According to TAdviser, the Russian market of cloud services in 2016 made about 29 billion rubles. The most noticeable here local developers (46%) who extend the services as independently, and using partners – resellers and integrators. In this segment with a noticeable separation SKB Kontur (50%), after it – 1C (18%) is in the lead.
The share of foreign vendors of cloud solutions in Russia makes more than 30% at the end of 2016. In top-3 to this niche entered Microsoft to which share about a third of revenue, IBM (18%) and Salesforce (14%) falls.
23% of the market fall to the share of integrators. IT-Grad (28%), on the second place - Dataline (15%) became the leader in this segment.
Suppliers of cloud services
According to TAdviser, 64% of the polled companies use at the moment services a cloud (public, or own). That part of respondents which confirms use of cloud services of foreign providers and is ready to reveal the partner most often mentions Microsoft (55%), Amazon (21%) and Google (16%). Among the Russian integrators DataLine and Softline, among domestic vendors – SKB Kontur and 1C appear.
In the list of the companies specified by respondents which made in the last two years the greatest break in the field of Cloud Microsoft (48%) and Google (36%) are in the lead.
Consumption patterns of cloud services
In global market the dominating consumption pattern of cloud services is SaaS (lease of remote applications). According to Gartner, on the SaaS segment almost twice more revenue, than is the share of IaaS services, i.e. leases of computing powers in remote data center which represent the second core group of cloud products.
Traditionally Russian market is estimated at 1.5-2% of world. Respectively, the structure of cloud sales in Russia looks in a similar way though the Russian consumption of cloud services has specific features.
First, it is backwardness of a segment of small and medium business in Russia which in the world is the main consumer of SaaS. This situation begins to change in recent years, however dynamics is constrained not so much by mistrust to cloud services how many high level of use of the pirated software which historically developed in this segment.
Secondly, it is features of the Russian large business which is more interested in lease of computing infrastructure and tanks of storage. Using IaaS problems of scalability and cost optimization on IT are solved. At the same time business processes in the companies often are not standard and cannot be satisfied using standard with SaaS. Therefore at the level of applications most often use own developments or strongly customized vendor solutions. Proceeding from it, it is predicted that the IaaS market will continue to show higher growth rates, than PaaS and SaaS. According to forecasts of TAdviser it will be to increase by 35-40% till 2020. Owing to not enough developed systems of billing and self-service for average and small customers, the large companies and an upper segment of medium business are the center of users of IaaS.
By 2020 its volume will reach 19-20 billion rubles.
In the medium term growth rates of the market will gradually decrease in connection with the slow shift of demand of large and average customers from services of IaaS to SaaS services. The small companies and SP purchase services in the SaaS segment more often at once.
PaaS occupies the most modest share of the Russian cloud market. According to TAdviser, still no more than 2-3% are the share of it, at the potential of growth by 85-100% by 2020. As shows foreign experience, the model of providing PaaS together with IaaS and SaaS most successfully works: so, for example, the leader works at this market, Amazon Web Services company. Except it, enter into the three of the largest world suppliers of PaaS Microsoft and Salesforce.com.
Industry structure of consumption of cloud services
Products of leaders of the cloud market in Russia are most demanded in segments of retail, Internet services and also FMCG. Rather actively clouds extend in the IT companies, a telecom, in the transport sphere and logistics. For the last year the number of banks which, despite tough overregulation, transfer services to the cloud conforming to certain requirements for security and fault tolerance increases.
High potential of growth of cloud solutions remains in power, energy industry, housing and public utilities - including, in a segment of solutions for the smart cities. Demand will grow as avalanche and will mention the industries which still carefully look towards outsourcing of IT: medium-sized industrial enterprises, medical institutions.
According to IDC, more than 40% of revenue to cloud providers in the world are generated by mid-scale businesses numbering staff less than 500 people. From this point of view good perspectives in Russia as for the end of 2016 in the country there were more than 4 million commercial legal entities and also more than 4 million registered individual entrepreneurs are browsed. So far according to TAdviser, about 30% of revenue of cloud providers - owing to its low solvency are the share of a segment of SMB. In such conditions there is a certain stock of growth as clouds can help with increase in efficiency and optimization of IT costs. Most of analysts incline that further it is necessary to expect gradual increase in a share of SMB in the cloud market.
The market conditions on clouds in Russia: survey results
As showed poll of TAdviser, more than a third of the respondents representing different segments of the Russian business see the main advantage of a cloud in a possibility of acceleration of start of new projects and their output to the market (5 points on a 5-mark scale). About a thirds more emphasize advantage of a possibility of increase in fault tolerance and business continuity.
More than a third of respondents noted the importance of reducing costs of IT, thanks to migration in a cloud (5 and 4 points). About a quarters more selected as essential advantage (5 and 4 points) an opportunity to release resources to increase budgets by development and deployment of innovations.
The cloud providers who are most mentioned by respondents – Microsoft (47%), Amazon (29%) among global vendors and Croc and among the Russian integrators. The speech in this case goes only about awareness of business concerning the players offering cloud services in Russia.
It was offered to respondents to call the Top of 5 cloud providers and to estimate their strengths on a 10-tiballny scale. Microsoft, Amazon, Google and IBM were the most highly estimated players.
As the significant factors defining cloud provider respondents specified the deployment speed, transparency in calculations, the high performance and a broad set of services.
The dominating selection terms of the supplier of cloud services for 67% of respondents are service cost, and for 55% - experience of use of service in the industry or in the similar company for the solution of similar business challenges. Interest in specific cases of migration in this regard is rather high – information already significantly more, than, for example, 3 years ago, however it is still not enough for formation of the broad picture, note a number of respondents.
A number of representatives of the polled large business is added that in most cases migrations it is rather about cost reallocation of CAPEX and OPEX, but not about direct and significant savings. At the same time respondents note complexity of correct creation of cloud business cases and calculation of an investment payback. Perhaps, partly therefore costs for cloud services can "be felt" rather as overestimated and making excessive loading for business, than to be like those.
The trust to a brand of provider is important for more than a half of respondents (confidence in reliability of the supplier, stability of his business and, respectively, connected with this quality of service).
Risks of leak or data loss remain an obstacle to use of cloud solutions for 67% of respondents. The high sensitivity to loss of control of the resources still prevails in the Russian business, though decreases recently.
More than 40% consider a restraining factor the high cost of service – as it was already noted, considerably because the models of assessment of business cases of migration used in the companies (if at all are used), are various and, perhaps, are not always correct. In this regard in the market cloud consulting and solutions of "turnkey" integrators is rather seriously demanded.
Another 38% of respondents refer to the restrictions or requirements of the regulator which are not allowing to migrate more actively in clouds (first of all representatives of financial and industrial sectors speak about it).
The cost reduction factor (first of all CAPEX) can stimulate consumption of cloud services that noted more than 60% of respondents. It is indicative that despite all concerns in connection with risks of data loss, already 57% of respondents vvidit the security accreditation provided on the party of provider in clouds. First of all it is representatives of Internet retail, Internet services and also the IT companies familiar with requirements and conditions of observance of SLA.
Use of cloud services of 67% of respondents was planned in the next half a year-years from the moment of holding poll. At the same time more than a third of respondents claim that they will not consume cloud services in principle. Partly it is connected with use of own private clouds, confirmed by a number of respondents from large business. Besides, the scepticism concerning clouds saves small business, especially in regions.

Technique
Format of works – desk and field survey.
For determination of level of perception of cloud services and loyalty to them online poll on the TAdviser.ru portal was held. Part was taken by 215 people.
Telephone survey of the experts representing 600 Russian companies from them 150 – large business and 450 – SMB was in parallel conducted.
The questionnaire was developed for holding poll and the base of respondents is created. Heads of IT departments, their deputies and also the heads from business making decisions on consumption of cloud services acted as experts.
The companies representing such industries as the industry (including Khimprom, metallurgy, a food industry and so forth), agriculture, e-commerce, retail, finance, professional services participated in poll (IT services, marketing, digital of the agency, etc.).
