The Auvix company developed and implemented the multiscreen 3D Cave system in the St. Petersburg design office "Malakhit" which allowed the customer to refuse use of low technologies of natural prototyping.
The room of virtual reality (Cave) represents the working space closed from five parties, walls which floor and a ceiling are executed in the form of tough screens of the return projection. High quality of graphics allows to create complete 3D - the image in the room and provides complete immersion on the modelled Wednesday.
Before implementation of a hardware-software complex employees in the course of designing had to resort to production of models in scale 1:1 for check of accuracy of engineering solutions, carrying out the analysis of ergonomics and search of errors of design. 3D technologies - modeling allowed to accelerate development and to reduce its cost value – on any blueprint stage the solution can be loaded into Cave and to continue work with an object as with real-life. By means of the manipulator rotation of model, change of scale, movement in the horizontal and vertical plane, measurements, assembly and dismantling of devices, creation of cuts and sections, drawing summaries, preserving of screenshots and positions of the overview of model is available.
The system of virtual reality constantly recalculates the image 3D - scenes depending on the user's provision in the room. Thanks to it the correct perspective is observed that allows to analyze the design solution with a high accuracy, explained in Auvix. The separate zone of a stereoprojection gives the chance to the operator to see model eyes of the user who is in 3D Cave and to participate jointly in designing process.
