On August 29, 2017 the Schneider Electric company announced commissioning of a data processing center for the PhosAgro Group in the city of Cherepovets.
Project Tasks
Organizational changes, optimization of managerial functions in PhosAgro delivered a number of requirements to controllability of processes of service of IT infrastructure and to guarantees of availability of crucial corporate services.
For creation of a uniform disaster-proof data processing center the company addressed IBS Platformix system integrator. Technologies of Schneider Electric company are taken as a basis of creation of engineering infrastructure of DPC.
Project Progress
The organization of a data processing center took more than four months: from completion of reconstruction of the building before start of servers.
Even in such short time the project turned out interesting in terms of energy efficiency. The data center services platforms of PhosAgro in five largest cities of Russia. We aimed to provide the high level of reliability and during creation of DPC as much as possible considered requirements for reliability of the TIER III level. The DPC of PhosAgro consists of two halls, one of which for the standard IT equipment, the second - for racks where storage systems and servers of a non-standard form factor are placed. Total power of the IT equipment ~ 250 kW, 250 more kW are selected for needs of engineering subsystems.
In the project intra line InRow APC by Schneider Electric conditioners with the design volume more than 30 kW of cold with a width of conditioner of 300 mm are used, chill machines with the single-circuit scheme and use of the ethylene glycol which is not freezing in the winter. For power saving during the cold period of year freecooling functions, providing possibilities of ambient cooling are used.
The high-performance building block system of uninterrupted power of Symmetra PX used in the project with the efficiency of 95.6%, provides reservation according to scheme 2N and has single output electrical power factor that allows to provide the high level of readiness and energy efficiency of a power supply system. Each 500 kW UPS is capable to feed all IT loading and crucial elements of engineering infrastructure, and the modular architecture excludes existence of a uniform point of failure. As a reserve source DGU is used.
The DPC of PhosAgro is equipped with a monitoring system of engineering infrastructure and climate of Data Center Expert, she provides continuous control of the most important operation parameters of an object and supplies administrators and a duty shift of DPC with necessary statistics and data of video surveillance, notifies on abnormal events. Notifications are transferred to own Help Desk system, and if necessary, to Schneider Electric support service.
Project Results
In four months, from the moment of the beginning of the project, the PhosAgro company had an opportunity to transfer server capacities to DPC, to reduce costs for support and provided to employees access to the virtualized services.
