Support is expanded

On December 13, 2017 the Dell EMC company announced expanded support of an environment of Microsoft in data processing centers with release of Dell EMC XC Series technologies.

Profound integration of Dell EMC XC Series into solutions of data protection Dell EMC Data Protection and Windows Microsoft 2016.

As a part of a line of Dell EMC XC Series hyper convergent devices on which it is possible to launch the most different virtual environments and using different hypervisors among which there is Microsoft Hyper-V. Owing to growth of number of product introductions of Microsoft on XC Series, including SQL, Exchange and SharePoint, as a part of an update:

• the management console security as a part of the XC Series control panel which integrated and simplified control functions by data protection on XC Series devices. When using Dell EMC Avamar VE and Dell EMC Data Domain the console gives the exhausting set of opportunities for data protection and cloud reservation, and support of Virtustream and Microsoft Azure allows to receive multilevel data storage. By means of the console system administrators have an opportunity to quickly create backup copies and to manage them regardless of quantity of clusters XC Series.
• optimization under Microsoft Hyper-V 2016 and Azure without the mezzanine board, including Windows Hyper-V 2016. The Azure Log Analytics Solution component allows to connect XC Series devices to instruments of automation in data centers, control of which is exercised using OMS. It allows to make the analysis of trends and to reveal anomalies in network traffic.

The upgraded Dell EMC XC technologies will be available for sale in the world market in the fourth quarter 2017.

The hyper convergent device is released

On July 14, 2017 the Dell EMC company provided the optimized hyper convergent device - XC Xpress for VDI.

By Dell EMC XC Xpress for VDI it is optimized for workloads of VDI by means of reference architecture. It allows the organizations of the small and medium size to unroll and manage a computing environment on the basis of Nutanix technologies. This device integrates the server and infrastructure of storage, the software for virtualization and cloud support in one "ready to use" the solution which proposes at choice hypervisors and the brokers VDI.

Main XC Xpress for VDI properties

• Simplicity of installation and management:
  • The device offers complex approach to VDI; it can be unrolled in only several hours, at the same time deep examination in the field of virtualization or professional services is not required. Control is exercised using the Nutanix PRISM console with the interface based on HTML.

• Flexibility and possibility of the choice:
  • The organizations can begin with a three-nodal configuration and scale it to hundreds of nodes. This device supports hypervisors and technologies of brokers. XC Xpress for VDI is suitable for small environments and supplements the solutions Dell EMC VxRail for VDI and Dell EMC XC Series for VDI which are widely used at deployment of larger corporate environments of VDI.

• Functionality and reliability:
  • The device has functionality with opportunities of delivery of applications and desktops, borrowing only 3U in a rack. Additional functions of a corporate class include cloud backup and selfrepair clusters for ensuring fault tolerance.
