2020: Drones in Russia began to transport oil tests

In December, 2020 Gazprom Neft announced use of drones for delivery of tests from the field. The company claims that it is the first similar project in the Russian oil industry.

Within the first flight with the samples taken from the Southern Priobskoye field of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, the UAV overcame distance more than 40 km at the height up to 200 meters. The aircraft made several deliveries of tanks from well pads of the field to chemical analysis laboratory.

Loading capacity of the drone is expected weight up to 7 kg, it is equipped with the system of emergency landing and can smoothly land in case of refusal the engine on a parachute.

According to estimates of Gazprom Neft, use of similar UAVs will allow to cut by half delivery time of a load in comparison with land transport and also will provide stability of transportations of tests of oil at all seasons of the year.

Thanks to a parachute the drone can smoothly land in case of refusal the engine. The UAV is capable to be airborne not less than one hour and is steady against climatic conditions of Far North.

Digital technologies allow us to optimize production processes at each stage. The modern equipment, including using elements of artificial intelligence, multiply increases the level of environmental friendliness and security and also efficiency of oil production on our fields — the CEO of Gazpromneft-Khantos Sergey Fyodorov said.

Gazprom Neft successfully tested the UAV for delivery of tests of oil on the field in KhMAO

The company noted that pilotless and robotic technologies for the solution of logistic tasks Gazprom Neft carries out tests since the beginning of 2020. In October were carried out into trial operation it was brought pilotless electric vehicle "Gazelle of NEXT", having a course stock in 120 km.[1]

2017: Gazprom Neft for the first time used the unmanned aerial vehicle for delivery of a load to the field

Gazprom Neft for the first time performed delivery of a load to the remote field using the unmanned aerial vehicle. The project was implemented jointly by specialists Gazpromneft Supply and Gazpromneft Noyabrskneftegaz with assistance of the MMS Radar scientific and production enterprise.

Gazprom Neft for the first time used the unmanned aerial vehicle for delivery of a load to the field

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) weighing 37 kg delivered a freight weighing 4.5 kg to the Boundary field Gazpromneft Noyabrskneftegaz. The aircraft took off from the central base of the enterprise in the city of Noyabrsk and overcame 40 kilometers to the purpose in 42 minutes. Average speed of flight was 40 km/h. Tests confirmed a possibility of use of the UAV for delivery of cargo to the remote production sites where during the spring and autumn period there is no land message and also in cases when use of helicopters is economically inexpedient.

The project of use of unmanned aerial vehicles for cargo delivery was developed and implemented within the program of technology development of Gazprom Neft. During the winter period of 2017-2018 in company assets tests of the UAV of helicopter type and also rotor aircrafts will continue.

"Successful experience of cargo delivery by "UAV' on the remote production site has huge value for the oil and gas industry. We proved that in difficult climatic conditions it is possible to provide effective delivery of small consignments with the pilotless systems when use of the piloted helicopters is unfairly expensive. Tested allowed to define process of the organization of flights, to estimate a possibility of flight in the automatic mode and also resistance of the equipment to weather conditions, including strong winds. In case of positive experience of use of small-size UAVs, we will consider a question of application in the logistic purposes of pilotless courts weighing 500 kg and with a loading capacity of 200 kg" — the CEO Gazpromneft Supply Sergey Smetskoy told.
The first among the enterprises of Gazprom Neft the UAV for aero monitoring of trade transport infrastructure began to use Gazpromneft Noyabrskneftegaz. It promoted reliability augmentation of its work. Carrying out tests on use of UAVs in the logistic purposes showed expansion of borders of their use. Implementing digital technologies at all stages of hydrocarbon production, we significantly increase technological effectiveness of all production process "— the CEO Gazpromneft Noyabrskneftegaz Pavel Kryukov noted.

Help

Since 2015 Gazprom Neft conducts commercial operation of unmanned aerial vehicles for monitoring of operation of pressure head oil pipelines. UAVs provide control of integrity of intra-field trunks, including on the remote sections of fields. Use of the modern equipment allows to monitor in real time a status of pipelines and to considerably reduce environmental risks, including during the fire-dangerous period.
