Performance indicators
2023: 2x Profit Growth
The online financial platform Webbankir (LLC IFC VEBBANKIR) summed up the results of 2023, which was a record for the company in all key business areas. The company announced this on February 7, 2024.
In May 2023, the company's working portfolio, excluding delays, for the first time exceeded 2 billion rubles and since then has not dropped below this level. As of December 2023, the portfolio amounted to 2.45 billion rubles, which is 46% more than in the same period in 2022.
Profit at OSBU doubled and reached 771 million rubles compared to 388 million rubles a year earlier. Such an impressive result was possible due to the effect of scale: the business grew much faster than the company's operating costs.
Almost half a million customers (482 thousand people) throughout Russia used Webbankir services for the first time.
In 2023, the company issued over 2.4 million loans totaling more than 22 billion rubles. The number of loans compared to 2022 increased by 33%, the volume of loans - by 38%.
Thus, the last year accounted for about a third of all loans made to customers in Webbankir's 11 years of existence. And the total volume of issues in the entire history of the online platform overcame the bar of 70 billion rubles.
The high dynamics of the business was supported by diversified funding, which consists bank credit of lines, funds of private investors and borrowings in the debt market. In October 2023, LLC IFC VEBBANKIR placed on the Moscow Stock Exchange fourth account bonded a 3.5-year loan for 350 million rubles with a floating coupon rate of 15 to 20% per annum.
In 2023, important changes took place in the microfinance market: the Bank of Russia introduced macroprudential limits restricting work with borrowers with a high debt burden, and lowered the maximum rate on consumer loans and loans to 0.8% per day. These measures contributed to the consolidation of the market. MFI services are in great demand among Russians, and Webbankir, as one of the technology leaders in the industry, offered the best conditions for online lending, which provided dynamics two to three times ahead of market indicators, "said Andrey Ponomarev, founder and CEO of the online financial platform Webbankir. |
In particular, the company does not sell additional services and does not charge hidden fees that can negatively affect the cost of the main product. Webbankir also offers favorable conditions for prolonging current loans without deteriorating credit history. And new customers are attracted by the opportunity to take out the first loan for free, that is, at 0% per annum.
2021: 47.5% increase in loans issued to RUB 1.02 billion
In December 2021, the volume of loans issued on the online financial platform Webbankir for the first time reached 1.02 billion rubles. In December 2020, the volume of issues amounted to 691.6 million rubles. Thus, over the year, the indicator increased by 47.5%. At the same time, the number of loans increased by 52.2% year-on-year. The average loan amount was about 7.8 thousand rubles. The company announced this on January 13, 2022.
December is traditionally the peak month in the microfinance market, because it is at this time that most people buy gifts for themselves and loved ones, prepare for the celebration of the New Year and the subsequent long holidays. At the same time, a similar dynamics is observed in the whole year. The volume of issues set a record compared to 2020 and with previous periods, - said Andrei Ponomarev, CEO of the online financial platform Webbankir. |
The growth of loans is associated with the general high demand for microloans, as well as with the strong positions of Webbankir itself in the market. During self-isolation, many Russians appreciated the advantages of digital services, and in 2021 this trend continued. More and more customers are moving from small MFIs to large online companies, where a loan can be obtained within a few minutes in 24/7 mode from anywhere in the world where there is Internet.
Webbankir has also significantly increased its marketing activity throughout 2021. In particular, Leonid Yakubovich, the permanent host of the Field of Miracles program, whose image is close and understandable to millions of Russians, became the face of the financial platform.

The market adequately assessed the yield level proposed by the issuer during the placement of the loan, according to the results of the first days of trading, the price of bonds did not fall below par.
The placement of bonds on the public market is an important step in the development of our business, - commented Andrei Ponomarev, CEO of the online financial platform Webbankir . - The company received a good reserve of financing at the lowest rate for the market for future growth of operating activities. In addition, we have become a public company, which significantly improves our reputation as a reliable and responsible borrower. |

2020: Profit growth by 311.8% to RUB 383 mln
On March 16, 2021, the online financial platform Webbankir shared the financial results of 2020. Despite the crisis phenomena observed in the economy and in the financial market, in particular, the company ended the year with a steady increase in the main indicators.
The company's net profit in 2020 reached 383 million rubles, which is 311.8% higher than in 2019. Profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to RUB 566 million against RUB 233 million a year earlier, thus increasing by 58.8%. Such indicators were achieved mainly due to an increase in the customer base and attracting high-quality borrowers.
The number of unique clients for the year increased by 32% - up to 625 thousand people. The number of microloans issued in 2020 amounted to 837.4 thousand, which is 1.2% more than in 2019. The volume of microloans has slightly decreased - from 7 billion to 6.8 billion rubles, which is due to a reduction in the average check in the first half of 2020. However, already in the fourth quarter, these indicators exceeded the pre-crisis level, and in January 2021, the monthly volume of loans on the Webbankir platform for the first time in the history of the company exceeded 700 million rubles.
On the horizon of three years, Webbankir's issuance grew 3.4 times, net profit - 3.5 times, and the customer base - 5.9 times.
The company's focus is aimed at attracting better quality customers. Unlike many other market participants, we deliberately abandoned all hidden commissions. This reduced the revenue side at the moment, but made our product more in demand among customers. In the medium term, we received a better audience and a high percentage of loan repayment, which had a positive effect on profits, - said Andrei Ponomarev, founder and CEO of the online financial platform Webbankir. |
The growth in the number of clients was certainly influenced by the introduction of a loyalty program innovative for the microfinance market in the summer of 2020, when for each loan repaid on time, the client receives a five percent cashback, which can compensate for interest on subsequent loans.
During 2020, Webbankir also optimized business processes and implemented a number of significant IT solutions, improving the convenience of mobile applications, fraud protection and client service. In particular, the company was one of the first on the market to connect to the fast payment system of the Central Bank of Russia, which expanded the ability of customers to choose convenient payment instruments through which you can repay the loan.
2018: Webbankir issued loans worth 5.4 billion rubles - 2.7 times more than a year earlier
In 2018, the online financial platform Webbankir issued loans totaling 5.4 billion rubles. For comparison: in 2017, it provided loans to customers for 2 billion rubles, thus the portfolio grew 2.7 times.
It was possible to achieve such operational results by attracting a new audience. The total number of active borrowers on the platform in 2018 reached 500 thousand people, over the year the number of customers doubled.
The company also significantly diversified its services, turning into a financial supermarket. Webbankir offers customers insurance and legal services, the opportunity to assess their credit rating, make payments, pay for housing and communal services, fines and much more.
At the end of 2018, the company launched a digital POS lending platform for small and medium-sized businesses Webbankir Pay. During the year, it is planned to connect 50 thousand partners throughout Russia to it.
"According to our estimates, the microfinance market in Russia grew by about 17% in 2018. Moreover, it was online loans that became the main driver, which showed an increase of over 50%. Even against this background, Webbankir showed even more convincing dynamics, remaining the fastest growing company in Russia. The volume of our business in 2018 grew 2.7 times, "says Andrey Ponomarev, CEO of the Webbankir platform.
In 2019, the microfinance market will be greatly influenced by the decision of the Central Bank to limit rates on consumer loans and loans (from July 28 they are limited to 1.5% per day, from July 1 they should not exceed 1% per day). The new rules may negatively affect the profitability of market participants working in the PDL segment (payday loans). At the same time, a decrease in rates will lead to an influx of a better audience into the microfinance market, which previously used bank loans.
2017: Issuance of loans worth 2.6 billion rubles by autumn
In the fall of 2017, the company issued loans in the amount of over 2.6 billion rubles.
2014: Supremum Capital - shareholder of Webbankir
