The Ford company announced on October 27, 2017 creation by engineers of the company of the robot, with a big accuracy of the imitating movement of the person when landing in an automobile chair and disembarkation from it. It allowed to reproduce strain which is experienced by a chair in actual practice.

In a basis of the programmed movements of the robot who got the nickname Robutt (Robopop) the research conducted by means of a touch rug is necessary. The rug placed on a seat pillow precisely registered loading places of application that allowed to create the card of pressure describing most widespread "route" of hips and buttocks when landing in a seat and disembarkation from it.

From the moment of landing in the car the seat creates feeling of comfort and quality — Svenja Froehlich, durability engineer in head division of the European division of Ford in Cologne, Germany told. — Earlier we used pneumatic cylinders which just moved to a vertical up and down. With Robopop we can reproduce these movements of the person very precisely now.

The robot imitating the person (more precisely, a nozzle on his mechanical "hand" - the manipulator) approximately corresponds to the sizes and weight of the adult of a large constitution. With its help it was succeeded to complete the test reproducing load of Ford Fiesta seat within 10 years of operation in only 3 weeks. For this purpose Robopop had "to sit down" on a seat and "to rise" from it 25 thousand times. Already chairs of all Ford models available in Europe will shortly put on this trial.
