In the Russian army the fighting Nerehta robot created by the Plant of V.A. Degtyarev in cooperation with Fund of perspective researches will be taken advantage. The Interfax news agency was reported about it in October, 2017 by the head of department of the innovation researches of the Head Department of Research Activity (HDRA) of the Ministry of Defence colonel Oleg Pomazuyev[1].

According to him, meanwhile robots in army are engaged generally in investigation, mine clearing and fire fighting, however further they are supposed to be used also for the shock and assault purposes. Of "Nerehta", according to Pomazuyev, it will be taken advantage in the form in which he exists at the moment.

As well as other fighting robots, went "Nerehta" in the summer of 2017 of testing to Alabino during which well proved. As Pomazuyev explained, robots were tested on specially built route where they had to overcome different obstacles, including water barriers and to fire on targets. A number of indicators at robots was higher, than at the piloted fighting vehicles, Pomazuyev reported.

As the producer of Nerekhta reported Interfax, for the robot the fighting and transport module and also the module of artillery investigation are provided. The fighting module is armed with the 12.7-millimeter Cord machine gun or a 7.62-millimeter tank machine gun of Kalashnikov. As additional weapon the robot can use a grenade launcher AG-30M.

By "Nerehta" it is dressed in the armored body and moves on the caterpillar chassis. On the body there are fastenings for installation of a special equipment. In length the platform reaches 2.5 m, in width – 1.6 m with a height of 0.9 m. The robot about one ton weighs.

Further developers are going to supply Nerekhta heavier weapon, for example, anti-tank missiles. The producer tests different parts of Nerekhta more than two and a half years. Developers also develop the idea of joint work of Nerekhta with UAVs, for example, with the Merlin-21B unmanned aerial vehicle.

Competitors of Nerekhta

Colleague and Uranium-9 robots took part in the tests which took place in July, 2017 along with Nerekhta. Results of tests had to define what robot will be added to the arsenal in army. A developer of Colleague is the Kalashnikov Concern, serial production is not planned. The robot can be useful when rendering fire support, carrying out investigation, delivery of ammunition and transportation of wounded. He is controlled remotely at distance up to 10 km, can move with a speed about 40 km/h. It is possible to arm Colleague with machine guns of different caliber and also a normal or automatic grenade launcher.

The "uranium-9" developed by AOA "766 UPTK" can be used for carrying out investigation, rendering fire support and also as an anti-tank complex. The robot is armed with anti-tank missiles Attack, flame throwers of "Shmel-M" and also a machine gun and the automatic gun. At a daylight hits the targets from 5 thousand meters.
