Session "IT on Transport" (TAdviser SummIT on November 29, 2017)

Within the TAdviser SummIT conference which took place on November 29, 2017 and brought together in total more than 400 participants there took place the session "IT on Transport". During the action industry members and solution providers discussed on what tasks transport companies what innovations are already implemented and also features of legislative regulation of IT in the transport sphere are concentrated now.

The moderator of a session, the deputy chief editor Natalya Lavrentyeva covered key trends in IT on transport in Russia in the introductory report. Among them - development of road IT infrastructure, creation of "smart" transport hubs, development of pilotless transport, mobile technologies, Big Data and also emergence of the new organizations for development of digital technologies on transport and standardization in this area.

The deputy CEO of Software product group Timur Aitov devoted the report to public transport of the "smart" city with focus on Big Data and the personified communications. He provided data in the report that Moscow is included into the leading ratings of the smart cities of the world and noted that Big Data becomes the key tool for the correct understanding of problem situations, exact forecasting and optimization of the made decisions for transport and the city in general.

Timur Aitov, deputy CEO Software product

The speaker brought key calls of implementation of Big Data technologies into the industries. He referred difficulties of deployment of large-scale networks of collecting Big Data, problems of flexible integration of the data streams of real time arriving from sensors, mobile devices and from social networks with preserving of their adequacy to them. The call represents also optimization and adequate modeling of systems taking into account the purposes, a status, current limitations on projects and flows.

Timur Aitov in detail lit possibilities of Big Data for city transport and selected 5 obligatory stages R&D-проекта Big Data: it is collecting and updating of data, formation of user profiles, building of communication channels, development of scenarios of data processing, creation of forecast models.

Also the representative told Software product about works R&D which were executed by its group. So, on the example of data of Moscow Metro Software product made the analysis of user profiles of public transport of Moscow. Also it created specialized event handlers and BigData flows, including, for the analysis and working off of failures in work of public transport. For a number of transport tasks the company offered instruments of the personified communications for the notification and correction of routes of citizens.

Sergey Klimash, the CIO of the large operator express and express deliveries of DPD in Russia and SPSR Express, made the report "New digital logistics: Big Data and management of delivery dates". In a performance he raised the questions that such Big Data as development approaches of the systems using these technologies and other digital solutions change and also told about the project of creation of management model delivery dates using Big Data in the company. In its creation there was a need at merger of companies of DPD and SPSR Express.

The speaker noted that at design of the systems of new generation the question of understanding of time is fundamental: unlike many systems using cyclic time approach in the systems of new generation approach of finding of the correct temporary point and its application is more relevant.

The second moment – how to call these systems. Here Sergey Klimash selected a concept of the passional digital systems creating new digital generation, changing the world around. Such systems have features which DPD in Russia and SPSR Express applied in the project. Among them – the data (distributed, excessive, stream), technological effectiveness, openness and orchestration.

The management system for delivery dates created in the company according to the specified approaches is able not only to predict, but also influences operational processes, changing delivery process, Sergey noted Klimash. Her passionarity also consists in it. A system allows to perform optimization of loading of logistic network and forecasting of resource gaps, operating control of transportations. She mentions and a financial part, including cost value, revenue, profitability, the analysis of bottlenecks, etc. A system also allows to perform complex modeling of fault tolerance of business processes.

A system is self-balanced, uses microservice architecture and is based on open source solutions and also on products of several vendors, including SAP, Microsoft and Oracle. As of the end of the year it passes test.

Separately Sergey Klimash noted that large vendors, such as Microsoft and Oracle, reinterpret the place in the world now: products which they sold earlier – procurements which customers completed then together with partners consign to the past. The systems of new type – passional, gather from the different systems and gather as a new product already in the organization. Customers in fact become producers of systems.

The chief executive of Traft transport company, the expert of the working group of the State Duma in legislative regulation of pilotless transport and Big Data Artur Muradyan, told about the current state of intelligent transport systems, calls and cases of 2017. He noted that today even the innovative transport companies continue to work with paper documents.

On this background it selected with the main problems of logistics in 2017: a huge number of paper documents, an automation obstacle from drivers and perception of drivers by developers of transport software as "electronic herd".

Software for cargo transportation is already able to facilitate work of drivers, to dispatch orders, to transfer business to electronic document management and to analyze data arrays. A call in 2017-2018 is need to add a cycle of this automation, Artur Muradyan noted.

In the long term there is an opportunity to move away intermediaries not only between the consignor and the consignee, but also in own departments of logistics, search of free windows for loading by the principle of Airbnb, transition to the electronic commodity-transport waybill, loading and unloading using UAVs.

Concerning electronic commodity-transport waybills, Muradyan noted that she through the working group in the State Duma is attempts legislatively to carry out. The biggest complexity here – that it is necessary to connect bodies of traffic police since now not to do without paper document, being the stopped traffic police, the vehicle.

As regards UAVs, the Traft company itself began development of such transport in Russia, the chief executive told it. Traft at first tried to purchase it at producers in Russia, but it did not suit the offered options.

Artur Muradyan noted that now there are many legislative spaces in the field of pilotless transport. The experts of the company who got into the profile working group in the State Duma at this stage advance the idea of equating of the unmanned vehicle of means with the pupil who has no rights, but near which the instructor sits, and it can come out to public roads. It is supposed that the operator who will bear responsibility for such car will be in the car.

Ella Teterina acting as the independent expert told about use of IT in projects of construction of transport networks on the example of the large project in transport infrastructure of Moscow. She noted the changing role of IT departments in construction companies which have big powers and budgets now, but at the same time in the heads of employees often changes happen slowly, and many processes still are followed on paper, and not all employees in the construction industry are ready to new technologies.

Ella Teterina, independent expert

The large number of the organizations was involved in the project mentioned in a performance, including state, contractors, and terms at the same time were delivered short. And in terms of construction it was not such difficult, the complexity consisted in coordination of all. For this purpose the system of scheduling and network planning where terms were calculated, partially – finance was created separately, and the internal portal for information exchange with all subcontractors was created.

Some documents should remain in paper form, but for acceleration and simplification of decision making at the expense of the portal the opportunity for work with electronic documents for all participants of process was provided. The electronic archive of documents was coordinated to the portal, the reference book by employees, modules of meetings and reportings were developed.

In the system which is used for building coordination also the possibility of viewing the video cameras installed for observation of line is implemented. At the expense of it at any time it is possible to verify a real status of building with what is reflected in the reporting of the contractor. Thanks to it contractors ceased to deceive the customer, Ella Teterina noted.

Dmitry Malakhov, the head of department of the software of shipping company of export and inward cargoes Modul, told about use of photofixing in activity of the companies performing transportation and cargo handling. The Russian goods buy, including, such countries as India, China, Vietnam which are not eager to pay, the speaker noted. From them arrives different claims on incorrect fastenings, incorrectly performed work, etc. more and more. And, on the one hand, the company should be customer-oriented, and with another – it is impossible to grant all requests of clients as it affects a margin.

Dmitry Malakhov, head of department of the software of Modul

Such technologies as video and photofixing and also GPS trackers which equip practically all cars now help to confirm justification of customer complaints, Malakhov explained. Use of photographic materials in Modul is seen big help in confirmation or a denial of justification of customer complaints.

Pluses of this approach - can be given the device to each employee and to conduct shooting with any foreshortening, receiving a photo of high resolution and acceptable quality. At the expense of it became possible to build in the company workflows with the maximum volume of photofixing, Dmitry Malakhov noted.

In it the organization of communication of a photo with an accounting system is important. It allows to connect a photo with transaction, it is easy to look for on base of a photo at the right time and to quickly provide a photo to the client.

As a result of introduction of photofixing to the companies the number of claims decreased, the level of customer satisfaction increased and significantly income gained for extra works increased, the representative of Modul told.

Dmitry Malakhov told also about the technical issues arising at implementation of photofixing in workflows. The main of them are connected with the organization of storage of photographic materials, replication and data access for divisions, a photo binding from cameras.

Also Malakhov, answering questions from the hall, told how photos to a business entity become attached and as it is possible to prove that the photo was made at this specific moment.

At the end of the conference the open discussion in which speakers and participants from the hall participated took place. During the discussion such questions as legislative barriers to more active implementation of the latest technologies on transport and feature of regulation, relevance of import substitution in IT in the transport industry, information security and others were raised.

In a break and at the end of the session participants communicated in an informal situation.
