2021

Etalon Group considers buying company property in Moscow for redevelopment

On July 26, 2021, it became known that Etalon Group, the largest shareholder of which is AFK Sistema, announced that it wanted to acquire the property complex of Elektrozavod JSC in Moscow for subsequent redevelopment.

The enterprises are merged into the Elektrozavod Group, which includes capacity for the production of transformer equipment in Moscow and Ufa, service divisions, research and design institutes, an engineering center, as well as land plots in the Elektrozavodskaya metro area in Moscow with an area of ​ ​ 19 hectares.

The Board of Directors of Etalon Group considered the relevant management proposal and decided to create a special committee, since Sistema is one of the parties to the potential transaction. More details here.

Megapolis-Invest increases its stake in the company to 94.01%

In March 2021, a joint venture of AFK Sistema and Sberbank, Megapolis-Invest LLC, brought its stake in Elektrozavod JSC to 94.01%.

2020: Sberbank joint venture and AFK Sistema bought 64.37% of Electrozavod JSC shares for 24.7 billion rubles

At the end of December 2020, it became known about the sale of Elektrozavod to Megapolis-Investment, a joint venture of Sberbank (owns 24.14% through SberInvest) and AFK Sistema (75.86%). The transaction cost amounted to 24.7 billion rubles.

Under the terms of the agreement, Megapolis-Invest acquired from a group of private investors a 64.37% stake in Elektrozavod JSC and a 100% stake in Elektrokombinat LLC (Elektrozavod group). It is planned to create a leading transformer manufacturer on their basis, and a large-scale development project is planned to be implemented on the land plots of Elektrozavod in Moscow. Its details are not disclosed by the end of December 2020.

Sberbank joint venture bought Elektrozavod for 24.7 billion rubles

SberInvest and AFK Sistema provided Megapolis-Investment with joint-stock financing in the amount of 3.5 billion rubles and 11 billion rubles, respectively. SberInvest also provided Megapolis-Invest with borrowed financing in the amount of 10.2 billion rubles.

The parties also entered into agreements granting AFK Sistema the right to purchase and SberInvest - the right to sell to AFK a share in the authorized capital of Megapolis-Invest LLC owned by SberInvest. It is expected that co-investors will be involved in both the transformer and development business of the Elektrozavod group in the future.

2010: Development of research institutes in Zaporozhye

In 2010, the Holding Company Elektrozavod included the world-famous research, design and technological institute of transformer engineering of VIT OJSC (Zaporozhye). The Institute is involved in the formation of a strategy for the development of transformer engineering in Russia, the CIS countries and the world electrotechnical industry. OJSC Elektrozavod is reconstructing pilot production of OJSC VIT. The main task of this production is to carry out studies on models of new structures, manufacture of prototypes, control tests, preparation of regulatory and technical documentation for the launch into mass production of new transformers and reactors with a unit capacity of up to 630 MVA with a voltage of up to 750 kV. In addition, on the basis of the VIT testing laboratory, one of the largest in the world, a certification center of the European CAMA (KEMA) type is being created for comprehensive research on high-voltage transformer equipment. In 2010, in the CIS countries, there is no such certification center. The technical solutions developed by the institute's specialists are being implemented at all the company's enterprises - in Moscow, Ufa, and at VIT-Elektrozavod OJSC, created on the basis of the institute's expanded and reconstructed industries.

The holding company Elektrozavod also has a number of joint ventures with leading world and Russian producers of energy products, which provides not only high quality of products, but also access to new technologies, the European level of service of energy enterprises.

At this time, the Russian manufacturer of various electrical equipment supplies for such sectors of the economy as electricity, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, transport, defense complex, housing and communal sector. Equipment with the brand "ELECTRIC PLANT" operates in more than 60 countries.

In previous years, more than 300 types of new electrical equipment have been developed and put into production at the company's enterprises, including:

• transformers for voltages from 110 to 750 kV with a capacity of up to 630 MVA for operation in a unit with power plant generators, including nuclear ones;
• shunt reactors with 220-1150 kV, including controlled, in single-phase and three-phase versions;
• autotransformers of voltage class 220, 330, 500, 750 kV for main power lines;
• complete switchgears and transformer substations 6-20 kV, and other advanced equipment for the needs of power plants and network enterprises.

2009: Launch of modern production in Ufa

In 2009, a new modern plant specializing in the production of power and distribution transformers was commissioned in the Republic of Bashkortostan - with a total output of up to 27 million kVA per year. The new enterprise of OJSC Elektrozavod in Ufa in terms of technical and technological equipment, the organization of production at that time has no analogues not only in Rosia, but also in the world electrical industry.

1928: First domestic transformer plant established

Created in 1928, the first Russian transformer plant played a colossal role in the industrialization of the USSR and in the development of Soviet energy.
