At the beginning of 2018 the Fortinet company showed functions of information security for the future cars connected to network within the presentation of Renesas devoted to the latest autonomous solutions for test routes and other solutions of the future.

The means prototype on information security support developed together with Renesas Electronics is intended for demonstration of abilities to integrate the operating system of security of Fortinet FortiOS with a system on a crystal of Renesas R-Car H3 for the purpose of protection of the systems of the car and also cloud services and applications connected to network.

Fortinet and Renesas companies imitated violations of information security of a prototype of the car connected to network, including attacks on an intrusion prevention system (IPS) and DDoS attacks (the distributed attacks like "failure in service"). The purpose of this simulation was demonstration of efficiency of the automated integrated security system which provides protection of the driver against interception by malefactors of driving or applications.
