RFID tags for animals are domestic radio frequency tags produced by ISBC, designed for automated identification and accounting of animals.
2022: Launch of serial production of electronic ear RFID tags for agricultural animals
On July 1, 2022, the ISBC group of companies announced that it had launched mass production of electronic ear RFID tags for agricultural animals, which would provide Russian farms with identification tools under the law on mandatory labeling of farm animals.
ISBC has been producing subcutaneous RFID microchips for pets under the VETTAG brand for several years and supplies visual ear tags for agricultural animals, as well as equipment for automating farms. The submitted electronic ear tags will be supplied jointly by ISBC and SKS under the VETTAG-CKC brand. RFID tags allow you to automate many routine processes in agriculture and provide effective control over the spread of animal diseases, as well as develop breeding and genetics.
ISBC was the first company on the Russian market to receive official permission back in 2018 to issue and assign identification numbers for chipping animals from the Rosselkhoznadzor, said Nikolai Boyarov, director of the animal identification department at ISBC. - Over 3.5 years, hundreds of thousands of animals have been chipped in 40 regions of the Russian Federation. Now, within the framework of the import substitution project, ISBC, together with SKS, has developed and launched into serial production of domestic ear electronic tags. Today this is especially important in connection with the presidential decree on the mandatory labeling of farm animals. Domestic tags will allow agribusiness not to depend on foreign suppliers and quickly prepare for the entry into force of the law, since the production is located in Moscow and you can quickly manufacture and deliver the necessary batch of new tags to any region of Russia. |
Vettag-CKC ear tags are made of high-quality polyurethane, designed in a special way to reduce the negative impact of implantation on the animal's ear. Special vents on the mark cap allow you to speed up the healing process of the implantation site. The light weight of the mark, the compact size (the diameter of the mark is 30 millimeters) and a high-quality fastening system minimize the chances of breaking the marks on the animal's ear. For implantation, special forceps made of high-quality metal are used, which allows them to be used for a long time without replacement.
RFID technologies allow you to automate a set of tasks in agriculture:
- Create a database of electronic passports of each animal and promptly receive data on its health, activity, movements;
- Reduce the time required for the veterinarian to enter data into the system after each examination and vaccination;
- Integrate automated pass, weigh, feed and many more systems;
- Speed up the processing of information on the work of the agro-industrial complex and increase the efficiency of planning and management decisions.
2018: Certification at ICAR
The ISBC group of companies in February 2018 certified domestic radio frequency tags in the international organization International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR). The products of the Zelenograd plant ISBC have passed all checks for compliance with the world standards ISO 11784 and ISO 11785. Thus, from that moment on, Russia independently produces certified RFID tags for animals, the ISBC emphasized.
The clear identification of sick animals will allow the timely identification of infected products, including imported ones, to prevent epidemics of dangerous diseases. In addition, radio frequency identification will provide 100% control: the entire path of products "from field to table" will become transparent. The Internet of Things will be implemented in practice in a simple technology that everyone needs, according to the company.
Another possibility that has become available with radio frequency identification is the search for missing pets. RFID tags will become official passports of pets.
There are only a few dozen ICAR certified manufacturers in the world, and we are among them. The ISBC group of companies has created the only production of RFID tags for animals in Russia that meets international standards. We received the right to participate in large state and international projects for the accounting and identification of animals, which allows us to solve the problems of import substitution and conquer new continents for Russian goods, "said Alexei Antonov, associate member of ICAR, head of the ISBC Animal Identification Department. |
The certificate was issued by ICAR on 26 January 2018 and will be valid for 5 years.
