On February 11, 2019 there was information that for the first time in Tomsk the medical equipment which will allow to monitor a status of patients with the implanted cardiological devices of Medtronic far off was installed. It is about the Medtronic CareLink Express system which equipped a cardiological clinic of Research institute of cardiology (scientific research institute of cardiology) in Tomsk.

Using the CareLink Express system patients with the implanted cardiological devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiomonitors), without waiting for queue to the doctor, can independently transfer data from the device for viewing and the analysis to medical specialists. For this purpose they need to approach specially equipped rack placed based on a cardiological clinic. The automatic machine in read minutes will remove indicators from the implanted device and will send them to the attending physician.

Such scheme of work saves time both to the patient, and the doctor, allowing the specialist to reveal timely the situations requiring medical intervention and to help those who really need it at the same time regular observation of patients is provided and queues are reduced. Patients will get rid of need to regularly visit the remote diagnostic centers: will be sufficient to transmit data from the implanted cardiological device through a nearby rack.

As you know, the implanted cardiological devices have a broad spectrum of diagnostic functions, reveal changes in the patient's status at an early stage. Thus, the patient can receive the timely help, having prevented deterioration in a status and to avoid the emergency hospitalization.

As of February 11 the CareLink Express system has no analogs in the Tomsk region, but it is already going to be set in other local medical centers.^[1]

Free implantation of 200 pacemakers of Medtronic on compulsory health insurance

In March, 2018 information that into scientific research institute of cardiology of the Tomsk NIMTs for the first time in Siberia patients with heart failure were free of charge implanted by defibrillators appeared.

During transaction Medtronic Viva Quad XT CRTD devices — pacemakers of the next generation of production of Medtronic were used. According to the company, the device by the size is less, than his predecessors, at the same time it is located in the patient's body more conveniently — under a clavicle.

The pacemaker in general allows to carry out urgently diagnostics of violation of a rhythm of heart and for several seconds to stop a problem: the patient receives special electric impulses then when in it there is a need. Impulses are painful and allow heart not to stop or not to leave the admissible mode of functioning.

At the same time, defibrillators of Medtronic are capable to collect to transfer information on a status of the patient and times a day it to the special website where the doctor can get to it access through a personal account. Thus, devices theoretically allow to monitor the patient's status in the remote mode.

Besides, the patient can and independently transmit data to the doctor through the special modem and, at small employment of doctors, rather quickly get preliminary correspondence advice.

According to physicians, the similar organization of work allows to reduce considerably death rate, in more detail to trace a status of the patient and in time to render a necessary assistance.

Pacemakers of Medtronic Viva Quad XT CRTD in Tomsk are set free of charge according to the compulsory health insurance program. In particular, in 2018 about 200 such devices are going to implant.^[2]
