The Dell EMC VxBlock systems simplify all aspects of IT and allow to upgrade infrastructure and also to reach business results quicker. The VxBlock systems provide complex integration of resources, networks, storage systems and technologies virtualizations of a corporate class from Dell EMC, VMware and Cisco. These systems with the advanced convergent infrastructure are developed, are made, controlled, supported and serviced as complex products that allows users to focus on business solving of tasks.
2018: Announcement of Dell EMC VxBlock System 1000
The Dell EMC company in March, 2018 announced replenishment of a portfolio of convergent solutions the system of the next generation Dell EMC VxBlock System 1000. The solution allows to overcome physical restraints of traditional convergent platforms and offers the enterprises big simplicity and flexibility, helping to accelerate processes of the IT conversion and digital transformation.
The VxBlock 1000 system is intended for support of workloads of all types and offers the expanded choice of arrays of storage, solutions of data protection and computing components in comparison with the VxBlock systems of the previous generation. It integrates a set of technologies and by that expands possibilities of convergent infrastructure, simplifying management of lifecycle of IT due to extensive preliminary validation. It exempts IT specialists from labor-consuming administrative tasks.
In comparison with the previous generation of the Dell EMC VxBlock, VxBlock 1000 systems offers:
- Business flexibility at the expense of the correct combination and selection of power of IT resources and services of data which are required for the modern evolving applications.
- Applications receive them when they need them. Clients can combine four types of arrays of storage in one system — Dell EMC Unity VMAX, XtremIO and Isilon, to select from quality rack servers systems Cisco UCS C- Series in addition to a blade servers Cisco UCS B- Series and also to use wide range of products for data protection of Dell EMC. In comparison with the previous generations, VxBlock 1000 increases scalability by 56% (from 512 to 800 servers) and now supports up to ten arrays of storage, claim in Dell EMC.
- Efficiency of a data processing center thanks to consolidation of resources in a pool for prevention of "spraying" of power and increase in return from investments at simultaneous reduction of the square at a rack up to 60%.
- Thanks to consolidation of various resources in a single system instead of application of several separate systems and management of them, customers can distribute and reassign computing resources, resources of storage and data protection, united in a pool, for specific applications in process of changes of requirements of business and workload.
- Simplicity of operation, granting the designed "turnkey" system with a guarantee of release of IT personnel from routine tasks for work on more significant projects for all lifecycle of the equipment.
- Own support in VxBlock 1000 of a combination of technologies provides simplicity of physical infrastructure, administration and management of lifecycle due to reduction of the space occupied in a data processing center (smaller quantity of cabinets, the LAN and SAN switches, power sources, hardware and the software of systems management). Offering less components for daily management and support, VxBlock 1000, according to developers, can also reduce the general time of administration of a system with a combination of technologies for its lifecycle to 75%.
As of March 19, 2018, the Dell EMC VxBlock 1000 system can already be purchased through official partners of the company.
