On March 28, 2018 the Fujitsu company announced upgrade of IT infrastructure of Ralf Ringer company.
Prerequisites of the Project
The RALF RINGER company works at the Russian market long ago and actively uses modern information technologies. Co time the server park became outdated. Considerable means were spent for maintenance and service of jobs, at the same time there was no major function – fault tolerance of systems that made impossible fast data recovery at failures. Besides, there were not enough available capacities for ensuring work of all systems and applications any more.
Project Tasks
The task to place all server complex in third-party DPC was set for IT department, having eliminated all defects of the available IT infrastructure. Also gradual development of a complex of applications, implementation of systems, transition to upgraded versions of already available software was planned. Generally changes affected the ERP system separated into two platforms: finance – 1C, production – software of Tekhnoklass.
Project Progress
The RALF RINGER company held the tender among producers of the server hardware. The Fujitsu company became the winner of the tender. The equipment of Fujitsu has the single interface of management and optimal cost. Short terms of delivery, the profitable service contract became additional benefit. At equipment selection the company held preliminary testing of the separate server systems. By its results also the equipment of Fujitsu was recognized the best.
The IT department of RALF RINGER bought the computer system of Fujitsu: the PRIMERGY RX servers, building block systems of PRIMERGY CX, ETERNUS DX200 storage system, ETERNUS LT60 backup system (tape library) and two PRIMEQUEST servers (for Bi-analytics and the ERP system). The equipment which is evenly distributed among main systems of IT infrastructure of the company also provides accomplishment of the majority of computing tasks.
The purchased complex allowed customer company to increase high-speed performance of those systems which were already available in the company. The cash front office system and the system of merchandising were replaced, upgrades of the main applications are carried out (software of Tekhnoklass databases Oracle).
The RALF RINGER company signed with Fujitsu the service contract for 5 years. The staff of Fujitsu carried out balancing and commissioning of a data processing center of RALF RINGER and also training of staff of IT department of RALF RINGER, specialists of DPC of the customer and his service partners.
Project Results
As a result of the project, the DPC meeting the requirements for scalability and volumes of data storage of RALF RINGER company is created. Due to implementation of the high-performance equipment costs for management and administration of DPC (growth of efficiency was about 50%) are optimized and also availability of the applied systems is increased that increased labor productivity of employees by 25%.
