SelfieToPay (Selfie2Pay)

SelfieToPay is the service of contactless payment allowing to use biometric data of the user for operational making payment.

2018: Launching

The VisionLabs company and the Russian contactless payment system SWiP started on May 28, 2018 in Russia service of contactless payment SelfieToPay which allows to make purchases "using a selfie", without getting the smartphone or the bank card.

VisionLabs specializing in the systems of computer vision and machine learning acted as the partner of SWiP in biometrics in implementation of service.

To begin to use SelfieToPay, it is necessary to install the SWiP application on the smartphone, to link the bank card and to take "selfie" to scan the person and to reveal biometric data for confirmation of future payments.

According to developers, SelfieToPay will recognize only the person of the user and only in sales points of the partners who underwent "strict" audit. The camera mounted in a sales point identifies the user, at the same time all settlement transactions happen in SWiP payment system.

The platform for VisionLabs Luna face recognition which is the cornerstone of service is equipped with Liveness technology which checks, whether this person in front of the camera or the lifeless image. Thanks to this technology swindlers cannot use photos or videos for payment of purchases. Range of the camera is configured so that the person only of the paying user got to it.

As of May, biometric payment of purchases with recognition of the person is available in several networks of public catering and cafe where tested technology. It is expected that since June, 2018 service will become available in 250 points of payment in retail in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Also it is going to start projects with several large federal networks.
