"The town a point of Ru" upgraded network based on the products RDP.RU

On June 1, 2018 the RDP.RU company announced that the Volgograd operator of broadband Internet access "The town a point of Ru" started the project on upgrade of the network based on the equipment RDP.RU.

The completed first stage of the project which included upgrade of basic functionality of the operator was executed on the basis of two product lines of RDP.RU:

Significant increase in overall performance, reliability augmentation and simplification of operation of network became results of the first stage of the project. These parameters, in total with the tools which appeared at the operator implemented in the products RDP.RU allowed to automate business processes, to fulfill the requirements of the legislation on traffic filtering (FZ-139; FZ-149; FZ-187; FZ-436) to increase quality of the provided services and to implement flexible management by subscriber politicians for improving competitiveness of the operator and decrease in outflow of subscribers.

The second stage of the project assumes implementation of functionality (EcoQoE) intended for collecting and the analysis of statistical data for assessment of perception by the user of quality of the services (Quality of Experience) delivered by the operator based on the service SGE platform which is already set on network for the purpose of quality improvement of services and work on increase in a subscriber base and work with outflow.

The planned possibilities of the operator expected on end of the second stage of the project:

  • Diagnostics of network, both in the present, and for any period in the past, objective understanding of quality on network in general and on any its segments, including the territory of the subscriber, reduction of load of technical specialists, customer service acceleration;
  • Identification of "weak points" on all network, up to the specific device of the subscriber. Pro-active replacement of the equipment causing degradation of service, the automated recommendations for users about actions which they need to undertake for improvement of quality of the received services;
  • Statistical quality evaluation of work of subscriber CPE proceeding from the producer. Determination of optimal CPE;
  • Possibility of measurement of speed of work of DNS, permanent monitoring of quality of this crucial service;
  • Obtaining objective data for tracking of quality of work of specialists of service of operation at connections/repairs.

Integration of solutions with the existing network was expedited, right after installation filtering of all passing traffic at the application layer of the OSI model began. Due to integration with the system of billing all main business processes were automated: application user politician, drawing of accounts to subscribers, flexible management by tariff plans.[1]
