Kanatokhod is a robotic complex for diagnostics of high-voltage overhead power transmission lines. It is developed to URFA by specialists of the small innovation enterprise Laboratory of the Future LLC.

Kanatokhod (2017)

For 2017 February of year, the rbotizirovanny diagnostic Kanatokhod complex can fly up from a ground station, sit down on a wire or a lightning-protective rope of a transmission line and in the automatic mode, moving from substation to substation, to collect and process information on an object status, to create deficiencies lists, to issue recommendations using expert system and to create volumes of rescue and recovery operations.

The intellectual technology of the Ural engineers allows power engineering specialists to increase quality of work. Besides, it can be integrated into geographic information systems of a software and hardware complex of federal power grid infrastructure.

For July, 2017, development allows to perform service and repair of the power transmission line independently in hard-to-reach spots, without shutdown of tension. According to the head Laboratory of the future, the teacher of institute of new materials and technologies URFA of Alexander Lemekh, the platform consists of the pilotless cart and the helicopter which is used for its installation and removal. Kanatokhod scans the route, builds the card, reveals defects, writes and then transfers data retrieveds.

By estimates of developers, in the long term one Kanatokhod complex will be able to service more than one thousand kilometers of the power transmission line. It will allow to eliminate quickly accidents on power supply networks, besides, will reduce risk for electricians. For July, 2017 the complex is equipped with the thermal imager and the ultra-violet camera for search of damages at distance in several kilometers. By 2018 complex entry into the Russian and world markets of diagnostics of the air power transmission lines was planned.
