The solutions Cisco allowed to reduce the number of business trips in the government of the Penza region

On September 5, 2018 the Cisco company announced that in the government of the Penza region the project on upgrade of a system of a video conferencing was implemented. The hardware-software Cisco Meeting Server platform gives an opportunity to appoint and hold meetings regardless of location and type of the used devices.

System implementation of VKS on the basis of Cisco Meeting Server allowed us to reduce the number of business trips by 20%, to increase flexibility of the diagram of employees and performance of their work. The implemented platform integrated an office of the governor, ministers, heads of areas and also other members of the government who already actively use it, including in business trips". In 2017 the staff of management of information technologies and communications of the Penza region started upgrade of a system of a video conferencing. The server on which a system functioned did not support video playback in the HD format, and the image was output to the videowall with archaic resolution capability 480p. At the same time participants were "separated" by rather wide frame: the distance between images reduced the useful area of screens. Thus, the solution with high quality of video transmission conforming to modern standards of the terminal equipment for joint work was required. The universal hardware-software Cisco Meeting Server platform with permission of Full HD and with a frequency up to 60 frames per second corresponds to requirements of the government of the Penza region. The choice of Cisco technologies was influenced that the platform is simple in deployment and is equipped with a user-friendly interface and also existence of several versions of the screen layouts providing comfortable perception and the maximum use of the available area of the screen.

The upgraded system of a video conferencing is based on the Cisco Meeting Server platform placed on the Cisco UCS server. On the server service of management of the Cisco Meeting Manager conferences is also set. He allows to organize video conference for unlimited number of participants who can be connected to a meeting by means of any device, turning on mobile clients.

Creation of a session of video conference requires several seconds. Participants can exchange the presentations, reports and documents, and the flexible system of layouts allows to display both flows at the same time. Cisco Meeting Server is individually configured according to bandwidth: thus it is possible to use the equipment at full capacity when preserving permission 1080p. Also the equipment of routing of video calls and integration with the IP telephony based on the complete solution Cisco Business Edition 1000 and the Cisco SX80 video codec with four cameras of high resolution connected to it enters a software package of a video conferencing.

Project implementation was undertaken by specialists of Maksoft company. Since the start moment before input of a system in commercial operation there passed four months. During this time it was succeeded to perform delivery, installation, a commissioning (including integration with the existing system of a video conferencing and service of management of conferences) and also training of staff of the government. Representatives of technical department of Cisco gave a first expert line support when carrying out commissioning.
