2018: Development of the system of management of the mechanized hand

On September 20, 2018 it became known that the Tomsk engineers and scientists from Neuronmech company develop a system which will allow to manage a mekhatronny hand by means of power of thought. In the future development can help patients with the amputated extremities.

A system consists of Muse neurohoop with five sensors which remove neurosignals of a brain, the software and the mekhatronny hand performing operation.

We use the five-channel Muse neurointerface, we remove an encephalogram from a cerebral cortex, we obtain a large number of data and we tie them to a certain status. The status becomes attached to action — a mekhatronny hand, the robot, the quadcopter. Data on a status are entered in the program: as soon as the signals received from the neurointerface match a standard — the device performs operation.

The neurohoop writes a status of the person during action and a thought that this operation is performed. As the mekhatronny device any construction can perform with bluetooth module. So, residents of Tomsk developed several options of interaction with robots for the demonstration purposes, simple and difficult.

We have three types of neurointerfaces: three-channel, five-channel and fourteen-channel. The simplest is a management on a status: meditations (calm) and concentration (when you remember and you think). Our little robots are configured on a concentration status. It is the simple program: you tensely think of something, concentration level at this moment grows up to 30 points, and this mark sets the robot in motion. You continue to concentrate, reach 50 points — the robot turns on the left, 70 points — to the right. If you reached 90 points — he began to turn, for example. It is so possible to see that transfer of a status of the person to the mekhatronny device really works.

Also developers are going to print on the 3D-printer of the anthropomorphous robot in human growth, to install on it motors and to train in more difficult actions: accept signals to move, stand, sit.

On medical questions developers cooperate with scientists of the Siberian state medical university.
