2020: An opportunity to hand over biometrics in post offices of the updated format

Post Bank began data collection in a diny biometric system as which operator Rostelecom, in post offices of the updated format acts. On May 7, 2020 Rostelecom reported about it. For May, 2020 biometric data can be handed over in 33 departments located in the different cities of the country — Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk and others. Thus, there was the next platform where citizens of Russia can hand over biometric data. Rostelecom reminded, earlier it was possible only in bank departments.

In the nearest future work on expansion of network of such post offices will be continued. After complete deployment of the project the network of Post Bank on collecting of biometrics will become one of the most extensive in the country.

Considering that mail is in the most different corners of the country, it will allow to expand geography of rendering services significantly. Expansion of a coverage, along with emergence of services on the basis of biometrics, certainly, will contribute to the development of biometric services in our country — the vice president — the chairman of the board of Post Bank Svyatoslav Yemelyanov noted.

For the beginning of May, 2020 through the whole country more than 400 post offices are opened. They are located in the most different localities: from million-plus cities — to small localities numbering inhabitants less than 10 thousand people. Post offices are equipped with the modern equipment and technologies which allow to increase considerably the level of service and to reduce holding time of clients. The biometrics in post offices is collected by the staff of Post Bank using the regular equipment of the workplace.

Rostelecom actively works on modern scenarios of use of a single biometric system. Start of collecting of biometrics in post offices is an important step towards expansion of systems capabilities for citizens. And as departments of Russian Post are even in small localities, in the long term, when all of them are equipped, citizens should not spend a lot of time for delivery of data. We also calculate that in the nearest future it will be possible to register biometrics and in other organizations, for example, in centers of public services 'My documents' — the director of digital identity of Rostelecom Ivan Berov told.

Biometric data can be handed over in one of 13.5 thousand departments of 239 banks across all Russia, including in 440 flagman client centers of Post Bank. It is possible to study the complete list of banks on the website of Rostelecom: bio.rt.ru.

Rostelecom reminded that Post Bank the first among the Russian financial institutions implemented in Internet bank and mobile application of Rostelecom remote identification based on a single biometric system, having opened access to all services of bank.

Implementation of remote identification through mobile application Biometrics

Completion of equipping of all flagman client centers equipment for collecting of biometrics

On January 18, 2019 the Post Bank announced completion of process of equipment of all flagman client centers the equipment for collecting of biometric data. For January, 2019 clients can hand over biometrics (samples of photos and a voice) for remote identification in 426 departments of Post Bank in 83 regions of Russia. Thus, the Post Bank completely fulfills the requirements of the legislation for necessary quantity of points of acceptance. At the same time the client centers of bank in which it is possible to hand over a biometric template are not only in large, but also in towns, such as Kamensk-Shakhtinsky (Rostov region), Noyabrsk (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area), Rybinsk (Yaroslavl region), Glazov (Udmurt Republic), Shelekhov (Irkutsk region) and others.

To To a single biometric system Post Bank it was connected since July 1, 2018, then started remote identification in internet- bank, and then, in October, 2018, started this function of century mobile application. Mobile application "Post Bank Online" it is integrated with mobile application "Key Rostelecom" which for January, 2019 is started on the platform Android and is available century Play Market. Further the application will be started also on to the operating system iOS.

"Work experience with biometric data in internal processes allowed us to join the Single biometric platform and to become one of participants of this large state project. 2018: The beginning of application of voice biometrics in call center

On October 4, 2018 the Post Bank announced that in contact center began to apply voice biometrics to authentication of clients. Record of a voice of the client is performed during the first call to call center. Further at the appeal to contact center a system unmistakably identifies the client on a voice, and from it additional confirmations in the form of code words, passwords and so forth are not required. A system significantly reduces risk of fraudulent activity, considerably simplifies authentication process for the client and provides faster service, emphasized in Post Bank.

Department of Post Bank

The Post Bank began to use biometric data (a photo of the person) for identification of clients and protection against fraudulent transactions several years ago. Since 2016 using biometrics the bank prevented several tens of thousands of potentially fraudulent transactions about 3 billion rubles. At the first visit to bank in case of the consent of the client the sample of the image of his face registers. Further this mold is used for its identification at each address that almost completely excludes risk of commission of fraudulent activity. Read more here.

"We pay a close attention to security issues of our clients and the transactions made by them. Implementation of voice authentication in call center along with photoverification in departments excludes risk of many fraudulent activity. At the choice and system implementation of voice biometrics in contact center we began process in 2017. Since February, 2018 in the client centers we receive the consent of clients to record of voice molds. For October, 2018 a system is started in call center on incoming calls. Besides, we also actively use recognition of the client on a voice at outgoing calls to clients for confirmation of doubtful and suspicious transactions. She allows to identify unmistakably the client and to be convinced that he wants to make transaction".

Besides, since June 30, 2018 the Post Bank performs collecting and transfer to a Single biometric system of samples of photos and a voice of citizens more than in 120 departments in 83 regions of presence, until the end of 2018 the quantity of the points of bank equipped with the necessary equipment will increase to 400. I.e. almost in all flagman client centers of bank it will be possible to hand over biometric data.

For October, 2018 service of remote identification in Post Bank Online Internet bank is available to the clients who handed over biometric data. After passing of remote identification the client can receive all operating services of bank: deposits, transfers, payments, credits. Identification in mobile application of Post Bank will become in the available fall of 2018.

2016: The beginning of use of internal identification of clients according to the image of the person

In 2016 the Post Bank began to apply internal identification of clients according to the image of the person to protection against fraudulent transactions. The sample of the image of the person of the client without fail registers at the first visit to bank and further the mold is used for its identification at each address (in addition to presentation of the passport). A system is introduced for prevention of fraudulent transactions and allows to protect all transactions of clients of bank reliably.
