History
2021: IRB 920T
On October 5, 2021, the company ABB announced the release of robot IRB 920T. The IRB 920T robot developed for satisfaction of request for electronic industries production in harder and harder productions provides the appropriate level of speed, accuracy and repeatability for problems of assembly, a complete set, processing and loading and unloading works.
According to the company, with a cycle period of 0.29 seconds, the IRB 920T is faster than other SCARA robots in its class, and up to 14% faster than the ABB IRB 910SC SCARA robot. Such characteristics allow it to produce more products per hour. The maximum carrying capacity of the robot is 6 kg. It is available in various versions with a range of 450, 550 and 650 mm. The robot can be installed on any production lines for processing various parts, from individual components to assembled products.
The key characteristic of IRB 920T is repeatability indicators. The IRB 920T shows proper stability in its class and can perform the task quickly without the risk of errors. Due to this, the necessary level of production quality is achieved with minimum or zero losses. This flexibility is complemented by its light weight and compactness. With a weight of only 24 kg, the IRB 920T is 10% lighter than other SCARA robots in its class. This allows you to reduce the cost of creating a work cell, since additional materials are not needed for the robot to work. All cables are laid inside the robot, so they do not interfere with its configuration and operation. The IRB 920T is compact and thus optimizes available production space.
2018: IRB 1100
On October 12, 2018, ABB introduced the IRB 1100 robot. According to the company, the IRB 1100 extends the supply of industrial ABB robots in industries where fast and high-precision solutions are needed to assemble small parts.
The IRB 1100 cycle time for October 2018 is 35% less, which provides maximum performance and best-in-class repeatability. During the work together with the AVV OmniCore IRB 1100 controller has expanded opportunities of traffic control that does it by the decision for fast assembly, capture, lifting and moving details.
As of October 2018, the IRB 1100 has 10% less base area and 20% less weight due to the narrower body compared to previous generations of robots. IRBs 1100 can also rotate in limited space and in existing automation lines. In addition to these advantages, the IRB 1100 also provides more flexible handling of heavy loads.
As of October 2018, manufacturers are forced to reduce the cost of their factories - from automation systems to production areas. The IRB 1100 is designed to support these conditions and provide opportunities to maximize the efficiency of each centimeter of production. It is a compact and lightweight ABB robot, and it is an addition to our solutions for assembling small parts |
The IRB 1100 is one of the first next-generation robots developed in accordance with ABB's flexible design approach. This approach will help to create a wider range of robots that can be configured for a large number of individual solutions. The IRB 1100 will be certified for use in clean rooms and is available in two versions, the first with a lifting capacity of 4 kg and a range of 475 mm, the second with a lifting capacity of 4 kg and a range of 580 mm. IRB 1100 is expected to be available for order in December 2018.
2010: ABB Robotics showcases new generation of robots
ABB Robotics presented USA a new generation of robots, a number of new products software and a compact US controller[1] the Pack Expo 2010 held in Chicago () from October 31 to November 3, 2010[2]
Among the exhibited ABB Robotics equipment, visitors to the exhibition could see a novelty - a robot paletizer IRB 760 with a carrying capacity of 450 kg. It is suitable for forming, disbanding and reforming pallets, as well as for forming pallets with mixed loads. The IRB 760 can be used for heavy goods, such as beverages. The novelty will appear on the market in the first quarter of 2011.
The stand also showed the IRB 660 paletizer robot, which has the optimal combination of speed, range and load capacity with the most stringent requirements for the configuration of boxes, stability, accuracy and cycle time.
Another novelty of the company is the IRB 460 robot for forming pallets from bags with a carrying capacity of 110 kg. It can handle up to 3,000 bags per hour. This robot will be on sale in the first quarter of 2011.
The IRB 4600 paletizer robot is the lightest universal robot in its class. IRB 4600 can be mounted on the floor, on racks, can work in an inclined and even in an inverted state.
The universal robot IRB 260 is designed to work with boxes.
The inverted-mounted IRB 120 robot - the smallest among ABB six-axis robots - has all the functionality of large "brethren," representing an easy, cost-effective solution for applications in limited areas. The IRB 120 is capable of providing up to 90 reloading cycles per minute.
The new IRC5 Compact controller is now available for IRB 120 and 140 robots. Its small dimensions help to create a compact robotic section with all the functions of control of production lines. Like all ABB controllers, IRC5 Compact works with RobotWare 5.13.
The entire lineup of the IRB 360 FlexPickers is the second generation of delta robots in the industry. The IRB 360 robots are available in various configurations to meet the requirements for load capacity, performance, range and sanitary requirements in various applications. Three models were shown at the exhibition: with a large range, a washable version of stainless steel and a compact version. The fourth member of the FlexPicker family, equipped with a fifth axle and developed in collaboration with DE-STA-CO, demonstrated the capture, movement and unloading of cereal flakes. The fifth axis allows the IRB 360 robot to lift flat products and orient them in width at high speed.
The ABB software package PickMaster simplifies integration of vision, visual inspection, pipeline monitoring and optimizes performance for handling different materials.
The company's novelty - the Indexed Conveyor Control (ICC) stepper control software package - allows the IRB 360 robot to perform high-precision operations to capture, lift and move cargo on stepper conveyors at a speed of up to 450 steps per minute. Designed to reduce costs and simplify the loading of boxes at high speed, the application package allows the IRB 360 robot to perform reloading operations on the step feeder of the packaging machine, which improves system performance by 50%.
