The document was submitted on vote on behalf of the Russian Federation by Technical committee "Cyber-physical Systems" based on RVC in partnership with Rostelecom.

As explained in the operator, the draft standard approved to development of ISO/IEC sets uniform requirements to compatibility of different devices and the systems of industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). It is supposed that the standard will become a basis for implementation in practice of the concept of "smart" production.

As of October, 2018 due to the lack of uniform standards producers in the market of Internet of Things use own standards and protocols therefore their products are incompatible with each other. Adoption of the standard will allow to solve this problem, customers of IIoT technologies will be able to use solutions and the equipment of different developers and manufacturers and also to carry out correct tests of solutions and the equipment for compatibility, emphasized in Rostelecom.
