On March 5, 2020, Samsung introduced, according to the company, the world's first 8K TVs with Wi-Fi 6 support. Compatibility with this wireless standard is provided by the chipset MediaTek.

Samsung also uses the Wi-Fi 6 standard in its flagship smartphones, such as the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy S20 series.

The novelties were also  the first televisions to receive an 8KA certificate from the 8K Association.  Samsung knows that 8K content is not enough, so it uses the next-generation Quantum processor to improve the quality of content from 4K to 8K using artificial intelligence.  The South Korean manufacturer is also in talks with Google to turn on 8K streaming video on YouTube.

Released in March 2020, Samsung QLED 8K TVs have frameless displays (they occupy 99% of the surface area of the device), a thickness of 15 mm and a completely flat rear panel.  Some models are also equipped with speakers on all four sides and a subwoofer behind the screen, which provides 5.1-channel sound.

In addition, the manufacturer provided Object Tracking Sound + software to improve sound quality and support for Bixby smart voice assistant.

There is no information about the start of sales and the cost of the Q900 and Q950 at the time of announcement.[1]

On November 6, 2018, Samsung Electronics announced the launch of the production of QLED Q900R 8K TVs with accurate and maximum realistic screen resolution. The company's plant in the Kaluga region will produce devices with diagonals of 75 and 85 inches for the local market. In Russia, televisions will go on sale at the end of November 2018. Earlier, sales of the Q900R line started in Korea, the USA and European countries.

According to the manufacturer, the Q900R line implements 8K AI Upscaling technology based on artificial intelligence, which allows you to improve image quality to a premium level of 8K, regardless of the quality of the original video and the way it is transmitted. It also includes a sound enhancement feature that automatically analyzes and refines the quality of audio content in each scene to create a full immersion effect.

The high level of brightness of the TV - up to 4000 nits - makes it possible to accurately display the content to the smallest details. The Q HDR 8K feature using the HDR10 + standard with support for dynamic metadata optimizes the level of brightness and color transmission for each scene, noted Samsung Electronics.
