"Swagger" helped Yuniskan to master Oracle Cloud

On December 5, 2018 the FORS company announced that the Association of automatic identification of "YuNISKAN/GS1 RUS" (GS1 RUS) made the choice for benefit of cloud services of Swagger — Development Center company (FORS) on the Oracle Cloud platform. The organization expands application of cloud services using the Oracle Universal Credits model and actively masters cloud computing which allow to achieve flexibility in work of information resources. FORS, being a partner of the Oracle Cloud Managed Service Provider (MSP) program, provides uniform point of entry for transfer of workflows in a public cloud.

GS1 RUS is a non-profit organization which advances the system of the voluntary international standards GS1 finding the broadest application in supply chains in Russia. Due to range extension of information services and the need of increase in level of their availability, reliability and security caused by it, GS1 RUS selected in 2017 Oracle PaaS-services for development and testing of the applications. And already in 2018, for solving of tasks of operating control of processes of operation of services and receiving the qualified technical assistance in Russian the decision on cooperation with FORS in real time was made.

The FORS unrolled own infrastructure environment – FORS Cloud, having provided complete legal, financial and technology maintenance of cloud services of Oracle. Having subscribed on FORS Cloud, the customer gets convenient, reliable and secure access to a cloud of "turnkey" Oracle, including development of architecture of the project, deployment of systems, optimization and migration of databases and applications. Management and setup of services happens through a control panel in the Personal account of the customer. Using hybrid model with a backup in the infrastructure (on-premise), the Association got access to all opportunities of DBMS along with advantages of a cloud environment.

GS1 RUS uses the following cloud services of Oracle:

• Oracle Database Cloud Services;
• Oracle Java Cloud Services in structure Oracle Application Container;
• Oracle Management Cloud as a part of Oracle Infrastructure Monitoring and Oracle Application Performance Monitoring.

The MSP partner regularly holds consultations of the customer on functionality of Oracle Cloud, technologies of a binding layer and databases. The expanded technical support of GS46 Directory in mode 24х7 including, besides, carrying out technology audit and optimization of operation of applications on Oracle DBMS is provided.

At a stage of preproject inspection which included audit of databases and Java applications the important technical recommendations which allowed to facilitate transition to cloud model were developed. On it 3 weeks were required. Within a week preproject preparation was made, and migration took about 7 hours.

Expansion of use of cloud services of Oracle Cloud Management (OCM) regarding Oracle Application Performance Monitoring is in the future planned that will allow to find quickly errors in performance of systems and to increase it even more. It is important that at the same time idle times are reduced and costs on administration are reduced.
