In National library of the Republic of Abkhazia ELAR Planskan appeared

On December 12, 2018 the ELAR company reported that in National library of the Republic of Abkhazia of I.G. Papaskir the complex of planetary scanning of ELAR Planskan A2VTs-600 is installed. Using a professional equipment will be transferred to an electronic form of the edition of national literature in the Abkhazian and Russian languages, being of great culturological and local history value.

The main library of Apsna represents modern cultural space where all conditions for acquaintance to unique and rare library stocks, viewing different video content and work via the Internet are created. One of the most important tasks of Library is creation of electronic resources of the national level, including in the Abkhazian language for expansion of access to funds. With acquisition of the modern scanning equipment the Library had a possibility of creation of high-quality electronic copies of different types of editions without risk of their damage, including shabby or densely sewed.

The national library of Abkhazia is one of lead agencies of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Abkhazia. Creation of the center of digitization becomes the fundamental solution for preserving of national cultural heritage in digit and ensuring comprehensive access to funds, both for library workers, and for users. The supplied equipment is the universal device for high-quality, fast scanning. Thanks to a universal V-shaped cradle it is possible to scan any stitched documents to the A2+ format with different types of a cover and with an optical resolution up to 600 dpi.
