The Federal Customs Service completely will replace Cisco with Russian Eltex because of sanctions of the USA

On March 11, 2019 it became known that the Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS) intends to complete within two years process of import substitution concerning the telecommunication equipment. During it department completely will pass from American "iron" to solutions of domestic developers.

"Telecommunication equipment of FCS of Russia was constructed on the Cisco components. We tested nearly a year products of different producers and for March, 2019 already for 25% substituted Cisco with the Russian analogs. If to speak in absolute digits, then from six thousand telecommunication devices changed about one and a half thousand. We are going to deliver one and a half thousand more this year, and the end of this process is planned for 2020". Denis Tereshchenko, the deputy manager of FCS supervising IT and block departments

FCS reported that "iron" Cisco is mainly forced out by solutions Novosibirsk of the company "Eltex" and in much smaller degree the equipment Moscow of firm "Factor CU", representing a line routers Dionis-DPS. Its capability began to support by a basic reason of the choice of "iron" of the specified producers required parameters of capacity — in FCS they are rather high owing to serious volumes of information processed in the online mode.

CNews noted that else at the end of 2014 the Cisco Systems company officially informed FCS on impossibility to supply the equipment in connection with the known sanctions of the USA and the European Union. At the end of March, 2016 told about it in FCS. In deliveries of routers and the equipment of a video conferencing Cisco Systems share for 2016 made 98%. At the same time in general in customs authorities 100% of the import equipment of a video conferencing, 95% of routers, 90% of switches and 55% of automatic telephone exchange were used.

Several months later, the Ministry of Finance approved by the order of August 15, 2016 No. 1585 the Concept of import substitution in customs authorities of Russia till 2020. Telecommunication equipment in the document appeared as category of technical means concerning which transition to domestic goods was recognized possible in the short term — "in the next years".

As it appears from Kontur.fokus base, neither Eltex, nor at "Factor CU" from FCS on the considered subject had no direct government contracts lately, reported in CNews.^[1]
