On March 26, 2019 the Accenture company reported that it developed the solution for merchandising using technology of virtual reality. It allows to trace a look of the visitor of shop. Using a VR helmet the behavior of the user in shop is modelled.

According to the company, the technology plunges the user into simulation of this shop, with an opportunity to move in space, to take goods from shelves and to put them in a basket. All this time the program monitors the direction of his look, estimating duration and the reason for which the person looks in the selected direction.

As envisioned by developers, one of pluses of such solution in an opportunity to repeat an experiment, having made, for example, minor changes in the calculation. And also capabilities to carry out remote tests, to receive more exact measurements and their instant interpretation.

VR - the solution allows retailers and producers of goods to conduct market researches quicker, cheaper and with wider scope. For March, 2019 the technology already showed growth in sales of one brand for 18% within the test period. Marketing - one of the most dynamically developing areas in B2C a segment. The majority of changes is dictated by the technologies which appeared for the last 3-4 year. But the similar VR solution should be considered only as one of instruments of merchandising. The behavior of the person after all differs in virtual and in the real world. Such technology allows to test broader spectrum of hypotheses, than only physical prototyping, but does not replace it completely

Accenture explains that the VR solution can be used both brands, and retail chain stores, at the same time on creation of a pilot sample about a month then its functionality is supplemented and improves can leave.

Accenture states a request from the Russian market for similar solutions. The companies are ready to eat the fertile environment for adaptation and localization of solutions. For March, 2019 retail chain stores take the first steps in the field of VR. A recent example – Intersection and Roundabout which will train personnel of virtual reality wearing spectacles.
