2019: Announcement

At the beginning of April, 2019 the PTC company submitted the software of Vuforia Expert Capture in which the technology of augmented reality intended for engineers and physicians is implemented.

As reported in the press release of PTC, the industry is concerned by crisis of knowledge transfer – according to reports of experts, next decade on production there will be tens of millions of jobs, but under existing conditions educations they can remain unclaimed. Use of augmented reality allows to optimize training of specialists in fast and exact accomplishment of different tasks, and Vuforia Expert Capture accelerates creation of AR content, reducing training costs. Thus given software provides to specialists up-to-date information in a workplace.

Developers note that creation of step-by-step instructions for skills training practically does not demand from users of special skills. Instructions can be configured precisely in a safe cloud environment on the basis of SaaS, and then to provide to employees using RealWear HMT-1, Microsoft HoloLens and other devices of augmented reality.

It is expected that Vuforia Expert Capture especially is useful in production environments without the developed procedures of maintenance/replacement of the equipment. Using new software specialists can make the interactive instruction for accomplishment of these tasks, and new workers — to get acquainted with them directly in a workplace.

The standardized instructions created in the context of a working environment should improve understanding of a task and increase efficiency and quality of work. According to the press release, use of Vuforia Expert Capture reduces time of creation of standard working procedures to 10 times and helps to reduce time of training of employees for 50%.
