On April 22, 2019 the Ruselectronics holding announced Rostec state corporation creation of a matrix of high-speed switches with the driver of management for the European Space Agency. The equipment is held for use in space radars on Earth orbit. Development is one and a half times cheaper than foreign analogs and exceeds them on a number of technical characteristics.
According to the company, the matrix allows the radar to switch either to transfer, or to acceptance of a signal. The device is designed at the request of the Italian supplier of the European Space Agency. Customers had a need for creation of the updated modification of radars – cheaper than the existing versions at equal technical parameters.
Development of Rostec is one and a half times cheaper than foreign analogs, and on some characteristics exceeds them. So, total losses are no more than 0.3 dB, and total outcomes (suppression of a signal between certain inputs or the outputs of the device) – not less than 60 dB. At the same time the device more compactly and weighs less.
Deliveries of a matrix for space radars will be performed within the national project "International Cooperation and Export". In the updated model of radars the matrix of our production will replace expensive foreign analogs. Devices with such characteristics will be used in the civil sphere for the first time.
