On November 20, 2023, it became known that the Kirovsky Zavod holding sold one of the oldest metallurgical plants in Russia - the Petrostal enterprise, founded in 1801 at the facilities of the Kronstadt foundry. The terms and amount of the transaction as of the specified date are not disclosed.

According to Delovoy Petersburg, the buyer was the Moscow organization of Construction and Development JSC, specializing in real estate management. The transaction includes another asset of the Kirovsky Zavod - LLC NPO Laboratory of Special Steels and Alloys.

Holding "Kirovsky Zavod" sold one of the oldest metallurgical plants in Russia - the enterprise "Petrostal"

Petrostal manufactures high-alloy stainless steel grades for a variety of industries, including automotive, shipbuilding and oil and gas. According to the company's own estimates, the output is about 120 thousand tons of long products of different diameters per year. According to estimates, the plant occupies 1.5-3% of the corresponding segment of the Russian market. In turn, the NPO Laboratory of Special Steels and Alloys specializes in the production of high-grade and blacksmith ingots of open smelting and ingots of electroslag remelting from special-purpose steels and alloys, which have increased strength and plastic properties at low and high temperatures, resistant to alkalis and acids. As of 2021 (the latest available data in SPARK), both enterprises are unprofitable.

After the change of ownership, Petrostal plans to "preserve and bring to a qualitatively new level the production of metal products." According to available information, Construction and Development JSC (the company's shareholders are not officially disclosed) carried out a transaction in the interests of a certain entrepreneur from the Ural region, whose name was not disclosed at the time of the transfer of assets.[1]
