Tele2 invests 356 million rubles in development of telecommunication infrastructure of the Yaroslavl region

On May 23, 2019 Tele2 company, alternative mobile operator, announced conclusion of an agreement about interaction in the field of development of communication services with the government of the Yaroslavl region. During 2019 the company invests 356 million rubles in economy of the region. It "The digital economy" will allow to make a contribution to project implementation.
The agreement is signed by the CEO of Tele2 Sergey Emdin and the governor Yaroslavl oblastidmitriy Mironov. The cooperation purpose – further development of telecommunication infrastructure, increase in availability of modern technologies to the population of the region and informing residents of Yaroslavl on relevant telecom services. Also the company has necessary resources for implementation of the government project "Digital Economy" and will be able to take part in development of the concept of "the smart city" and implementation of services, convenient for residents of Yaroslavl, based on Internet of Things.
The investment program assumes continuation of the project of construction of network of mobile communication Tele2 in standards 4G/3G/2G in the territory of the Yaroslavl region. As a result of service of the high-speed mobile Internet and a voice communication will become available to inhabitants of a number of remote and small localities. According to the agreement Tele2 investment volume into economy of the Yaroslavl region until the end of 2019 will be 356 million rubles, including 237 million rubles will be aimed at the development of network infrastructure. This project continues the program of development Tele2 in the region within which the company already invested earlier in construction of network in the Yaroslavl region more than 610 million rubles.
Sergey Emdin, the CEO of Tele2 noted:
we began to render mobile services In the Yaroslavl region and the high-speed Internet in April, 2019. At once on start we unrolled reference networks which cover the territory where most of inhabitants of the region lives. Nevertheless we are not going to be satisfied with what has already been achieved. In our purposes – to expand a covering, starting additional base stations in a number of small villages and also to take part in the Digital Economy project. The complex of joint actions with the government of the Yaroslavl region will allow to make even more available modern mobile services. |
Dmitry Mironov, the governor of the Yaroslavl region specified:
our task – to make modern technologies available even in the most remote localities. Joint work with Tele2 company also will be directed to it. For May, 2019 in the Yaroslavl region the operator unrolled qualitative network and until the end of the year is going to expand a covering. It will allow to receive communication services and mobile access to the Internet it is possible practically in all territory of the region. Besides entry into the regional market of the next player will increase the competition among network operators, so, the consumer can expect better services in lower prices. |
The Yaroslavl region became the 67th in geography of presence of Tele2 and allowed the operator "close a ring" communication networks around Moscow.
