2019: Development of prototypes of locomotive radio stations of the DMR standard

On June 4, 2019 the Ruselectronics Holding announced State Corporation Rostec development of prototypes of locomotive radio stations of the DMR standard (Digital Mobile Radio). The provided equipment allows to provide in the automatic mode an uninterrupted digital radio communication and data exchange between locomotives, the dispatching centers and railway stations. Serial production will begin in 2020.

The given radio stations developed by JSC Elektrosignal (enters into Sozvezdiye concern of Ruselectronics holding) are compatible to the signal equipment applied on the railroads can are installed on all types of locomotives and can be applied both in digital, and in analog networks.

In the mode of a digital train radio communication the equipment at decrease in the signal level provides automatic switching from one base station to another, thereby providing stable communication on all transit of structure. Analog communication assumes participation of the manager executing switching manually.

Radio stations are equipped with the adapter GPS/ GLONASS that allows the equipment to define and transfer locomotive coordinates.

For June, 2019 on the most part of Russian Railways the analog radio communication is applied. Our equipment is a next generation of the equipment of a train radio communication which is intended for the released locomotives or structures which underwent major repair. We calculate that our products will cost 10-20% cheaper than analogs and will be able to occupy about a third of the Russian market of locomotive radio stations which in is estimated at 1000-1500 pieces a year, told in Ruselectronics

DMR is the uniform European open standard of a digital radio communication for professional users. Since February, 2019 JSC Sozvezdiye Concern is a member of Association of DMR producers.
