2020: Implementation of the platform on enterprise management of SAP S/4HANA

On September 8, 2020 the management company of Pulkovo Airport "Northern Capital Gateway" (NCG) completed implementation of the platform on enterprise management of SAP S/4HANA with in-Memory technology and opportunities of machine learning. Start of the intellectual platform allowed to automate accounting management processes and to construct a uniform transparent corporate information system, having used different practicians in business process management.

According to the company, the NOVARDIS company which performed a project startup remotely acted as the partner in implementation: in the conditions of remote work there was a most part of key users, end users of back-office and all consultants of the contractor.

This system allowed the operator of the airport to automate work more than 70 different services, to optimize resource planning, in particular at accomplishment of maintenance and repairs of the terminal of the airport, machinery and equipment, to simplify work with tenants and airlines, having laid the foundation for more flexible rates and services.

The SAP S/4HANA platform has long lifecycle and provides tools for integration of different software solutions, systems and databases.

It is expected that use of SAP S/4HANA will allow Pulkovo to increase the level of service for deliveries to 20%, inventory turnover – by 10%, profitability of use of a property complex – for 5%, to improve technical condition of systems and the equipment for 10% and to reduce labor costs by preparation of the reporting for 15%.

Start of an intelligent system based on SAP S/4HANA became the first and important step on the way to digital transformation of Pulkovo. In the list of our strategic priorities — increase in a passenger traffic, involvement of airlines and development of route network, expansion of infrastructure, personification of services for passengers and clients. The solution of these tasks requires reliable and flexible IT architecture. A system based on SAP will allow us to optimize business processes, to increase their transparency and to create uniform data source for acceptance of management decisions in the conditions of permanent changes. Within digital transformation we also completely will update a management system for the Airport Operational Data Base airport, we will implement analysis systems of Big Data, to apply artificial intelligence, to develop digital services for passengers and airlines. This project laid the foundation for further digital development of Pulkovo Airport. On June 06, 2019 the SAP CIS company reported that the management company of Pulkovo Airport "Northern Capital Gateway" (NCG) by May, 2020 will implement an intelligent digital system on enterprise management (ERP system) with in-Memory technology and opportunities of machine learning. The implemented system based on the innovation SAP S/4HANA platform will allow the airport to arrange accounting management processes and to support the active growth of business in the conditions of permanent changes.

The memorandum of cooperation between the companies was signed by the CEO of VVSS Leonid Sergeyev and the deputy CEO of SAP CIS Alexey Petunin.

Within the project the operator of the airport will raise extent of automation financial and accounting, processes of supply, real estate administration, work with personnel, maintenance and repairs of special equipment and the equipment, optimizes resource planning. A system will allow to integrate different software tools and databases that as a result will increase quality and efficiency of operational processes and customer service. The Novardis company acts as the partner in implementation.

In 2018 serviced Pulkovo 18.1 million people and entered the five of the most fast-growing airports of Europe in the category.
