2019: Announcement of the robot
In the middle of June, 2019 Dishcraft Robotics provided as the company claims, the robot dishwasher, the first in the market, for restaurants and cafe.
Still dishwashers were not used at most restaurants as they noticeably concede to people in the speed and cost. On average dishwashers maintain similar high load only within a month. The new automated solution from Dishcraft Robotics hopes to become the first autonomous alternative to normal dishwashers.
The Dishcraft system uses "energy efficient mechanisms of cleaning" for processing of each dish separately, but not periodic cleaning of full lot of the ware executed by normal machines. Machine vision and training allow a system to check for fractions of a second each dish for existence of a remaining balance of food to provide full cleaning.
The CEO and the cofounder of Dishcraft Linda Pouliot carefully studied a question and realized that the paid-back dishwasher will help to solve a serious problem of the restaurant industry. Only in the USA there are more than 1 million restaurants and cafe with a total turnover in $863 billion by 2019. Pouliot hopes that with the advent of new concepts the industry already began to belong more seriously to automation and will be able to accept innovation in the market of robotics.
Though Dishcraft appeared in the market only in 2015, founders of the company work in the field of robotics long ago. The company develops an automated system for restaurant kitchen thanks to the venture support which made about $25 million by June, 2019. Rather long term of development is connected with the technical issues arising during creation of a system which should process different objects of different forms and the sizes and to apply the effective strategy of cleaning.[1]
