Applied project of testing of a 5G

On October 14, 2019 DIT of Moscow announced successful applied testing of pilot 5G network Beeline in a sports complex Luzhniki during the match Russia-Scotland. About 20 employees of the sports arena used a 5G smartphones and 5G CPE routers for optimum allocation of flows of fans and security of an action.

During the match which brought together more than 70 thousand viewers, the Beeline network surely sustained repeated increase in loading. The victory of Russian national team was reflected in desire of the audience to share joyful news: On October 10 during the period with 19:00-00:00 during the match with Scotland increase date traffic by 66 times was recorded, and the quantity of calls increased by 39 times in comparison with October 4, 2019. The peak load fell on the end of a match from 22:00-23:00 when the greatest number of calls was recorded.

Mass actions and holidays are always serious testing for telecom operators, real quality check and reliability of network in the conditions of the most high loads. During the actions especially important that data transmission and a voice communication steadily worked for the employees ensuring safety of hundreds of thousands of audience.

Successful testing of 5G networks Beeline showed opportunities and perspectives of use of modern technologies on sporting venues. So, pilot 5G network from Beeline was used by the staff of SK Luzhniki for optimum allocation of flows of visitors of a match and security of an action. It was for this purpose carried out integration with IT the SK systems Luzhniki and DIT Moscow. Representatives of law enforcement agencies used smartphones Huawei Mate 5G 20 X and CPE routers for monitoring, control and flow control of visitors in real time.

Key characteristics of 5G networks are capable to make our life more comfortable and safer. And our case, joint with Beeline and the Luzhniki complex, - additional confirmation. It was really real case of application of a 5G in Russia, in the conditions of essential loading. Start of pilot zone 5G in Luzhniki

On September 13, 2019 the Huawei company reported that Beeline started pilot zone 5G in the territory of the sports Luzhniki complex and successfully tested the main services of broadband mobile access using smartphones of the last generation. Implementation of a pilot zone will allow already in the near future, with distribution of smartphones with support of a 5G and further deployment of network of fifth generation, to considerably improve client experience in use of the mobile Internet, especially during the main sporting and entertaining events in the conditions of the raised load of network.

Start of a pilot zone is performed with assistance of the Moscow Department of Information Technology within signed between the Government of Moscow and Beeline of the agreement on interaction for the purpose of development of communication services and IT technologies. In the future technological capabilities of 5G networks can be used for implementation in IT infrastructure of Luzhniki, one of the largest sports complexes of Russia. The experience got during pilot zone 5G in the future will be used in further deployment of 5G networks ready to the raised loadings in scales of all Russia.

One of fragments of a pilot zone Beeline of a 5G is developed in Luzhniki near the central input of the Big sports arena. Where in days of holding mass sporting events and concerts the maximum density of subscribers and traffic of data is observed. Testing of the user scenarios was held on a number of smartphones, including Huawei Mate 20 X and Huawei Mate X. Peak data transfer rates on one subscriber device during tests made 2.19 Gbit / c.

For a pilot zone in Luzhniki Beeline uses the technological solution Huawei allowing to simplify for the operator a problem of start of a 5G in densely built up urban areas — in the conditions of strict restrictions on available space. Its distinctive features are ease, compactness, energy efficiency and speed of deployment.

Works on construction of supporting structures for a pilot zone in Luzhniki were carried out by Russian Towers Group, in full accordance with requirements of the legislation.

Pilot zone 5G in the sports Luzhniki complex became for Beeline the second space for carrying out tests of work of networks of new generation after the operator of a fragment of 5G network unrolled in 2018 in test laboratory.

The technology 5G is the next major step in evolution of the mobile Internet. Starting pilot zone 5G in Luzhniki, we want to check, first of all, the potential of development of the user experience of our clients. We are in an active stage of preparation for start of 5G networks, testing networks of new generation along with several vendors in the different cities of Russia. We expect that the first 5G smartphones and routers will appear in shops Beeline in 2019. In order that users could estimate possibilities of the last standard of communication as soon as possible, we carry out large-scale works on upgrade of our network. For September, 2019 the Beeline network in Moscow already for 91% of a 5G-ready, i.e. is ready to implementation of networks of fifth generation, and 100% of Beeline network support NB-IoT. We plan further starts of pilot zones in regions of Russia. Including, we will continue testing of devices, the user scenarios, technologies for the "smart" cities already in the started territories of a 5G, such as, Luzhniki,
